Big Brother USA 2018 - Episode 37 - Final 5 Veto and Eviction and Final 4 HoH

  • Outgoing HoH - Angela
  • Nominated pre-Veto: JC and Sam
Tonight

Julie goes live straight to the house to tell the houseguests about tonight's surprise eviction. So highly unlikely we will get many highlights this evening as a Veto, eviction, evictee's interview and the Final 4 HoH all have to be squished in.

No opening credits, and Julie Chen-Moonves, yes she is still calling herself that, welcomes us in and it's straight down to business after the nominations ceremony

JC is really happy he has made it this far into the competition, but in all essence he has just floated through while the edit for the televised episodes has made him look like a mastermind. He is trying so hard to sway Tyler with the Kaycee and Angela should go up pitch. Tyler is just getting really fed up with JC, and he is on the verge of changing his vote from Sam to JC.

Veto competition

As there is only five of them left, they will all play in this one. This competition is called Your Mazes are Numbered and it's fastest time wins Veto. They have to wear knights costumes and find three objects in numerical order, in this case 1 Merlin, 2 wolves and 3 witches. They have 30 seconds to find each object in the maze, if the 30 seconds expires they have to start from the beginning. If they don't complete the maze within 30 minutes, then they get timed. No penalties or bonus prizes in this one.

Finishing times in order:

Kaycee: 5.46
Sam: 30.00
Tyler: 6.29
Angela:10.50
JC: 11.09

4 in a row for Kaycee, now to see if she uses this Veto. Highly unlikely though, and she doesn't disappoint as she keeps the nominations the same so Sam or JC WILL finish in 5th place.

Eviction

Angela will only vote in the event of a tie, while the two nominees are not allowed to vote

Kaycee votes to evict Sam
Tyler votes to evict Sam

Finishing in 5th place is SAM

Sam admits to Mrs Chen-Moonves that she was surprised by the unanimous vote. She thought Tyler had her back, and JC is a pest. That goes without saying. Sam. She also admits she was undercooked going into the house, respect to her for admitting that. It's the experience that counts, and she had something a lot more people have had as in being a part of the Big Brother family in terms of being a houseguest.

Final 4 HoH competition

Angela not eligible to play as outgoing HoH

Whoever wins this one books their place in the final 3. This competition is called What the Bleep, and here is how it works. It's a true or false competition, and houseguests will view clips and fill in what the bleeped word was in the video. No penalties or bonus prizes in this one. The houseguests with the most points at the end of the competition is the new HoH

Final thoughts

Nice to have a surprise, just a pity it had to be him to break up the Level 6 big 3. Should have been out weeks ago with everything he did in that house which should have seen him expelled. Will the decision to let Sam go come back and bite Tyler. We'll have to see who JC puts up in the next nominations. All of the big 3 will be in trouble and it will be very difficult to call, but it does leave the door open to some fascinating possibilities come final 3. I don't want to jinx things, but for the sake of the show JC must not win. The guy is a floater and should have been expelled weeks ago.

Two more episodes left to cover for this season, and then that's this season officially closed. I won't be recapping the story of the season episode on Sunday, but I will be covering the next episode (ep.38) and of course the finale next week. I really hope I have done a good job for those who have read these posts, and I will be doing a lot of homework over the next few months in terms of the North American format, and hopefully be better than ever when we reconvene for those that will be watching CBB USA, Big Brother Canada and if it returns BB21 next summer.
