Big Brother Canada 2020 - Episode 8

Greetings citizens of Big Brother world

Now normally this would be an eviction episode, but this episode is entirely different for reasons which will be explained as we go along

Current state of play:

Outgoing HoH - Sheldon
On the block pre-Veto - Madeline and Rianne
Veto - Madeline

She then used the Veto on herself, and Sheldon named Minh as the replacement

As we get into this episode, Arisa reveals she is working from home due to the events happening to us all in terms of a certain virus. She has assured us she is ok, and just wants to be closer to her family.

As for them in the house, Jamar was less than happy about Minh being the replacement, thinking it was a weak move. He then reassured Minh that he was on her side. Meanwhile, Brooke and Sheldon were quietly confident Minh would be evicted.

Jamar, who is growing increasingly frustrated, is telling us via one of the house cameras and accused some of the houseguests of being there only for airtime. Exclusive for those that don't know, Jamar doesn't know how right he is, as Carol has basically admitted she is there only for that reason.

Away from house matters

As we all know, there is a virus working its way around the world. As the houseguests have been on lockdown, they have had no idea about what has been happening and also no idea about the scale at which this crisis is now at. Erin, who is the executive producer of the show, gathers them in the living area and informs them about this very crisis. Now normally I would have an issue with outside contact, as demonstrated in my many BBUK posts. But given the severity of this issue, I think we can make an exception.

Erin told them it was most rampant in China, Italy and Iran. Will be as bad in the UK as well very soon, as Boris is not putting us on lockdown and you should see some of the people who are just basically breaking the social distancing and stay inside rules. We will be on lockdown very soon, I can guarantee it.

After some assurances that their loved ones were safe, Erin ruled that have not's were cancelled for the week and that everyone would get a letter from home and some pizzas, after which Jamar suggested a group hug.

Back to the game, although it does seem irrelevant with what is happening, it's a bit important in terms of context with what is about to happen. After some alleged joking around, Carol made a tasteless joke about Jamar, which I won't repeat on here. To say Jamar was offended would be a huge understatement......

A short while later, Minh and Vanessa were talking game, when the subject of trust came into the conversation, to which Minh decided to call a house meeting.

In this house meeting Minh wanted to address the rumours she had been hearing about herself, and where they came from. Kyle, who else, and Vanessa were called out. This did not go down too well with Jamar who then asked Vanessa if he was being played, and she flat out just admitted it. Minh then pitched to say that if she stayed, she would go against Kyle and Vanessa. and also vowed to change the direction of the game.

Expulsions x2

Back to Arisa at home, and she explains that the footage of the house meeting had to be cut short due to Jamar's conduct....For those that don't know he made shooting actions with his hands, but apparently in a threatening way, as Kyle and Vanessa made out he was doing in a threatening way. Back to the houseguests after they were told by Erin, and Minh was visibly upset.

But that wasn't the end of matters, as due to constant problematic behaviour from Kyle, he was also removed.

So as it stands now:

The game will be reset
Both Minh and Rianne would come off the block
Sheldon would be able to compete for the next HoH

HoH competition

Endurance for this one, as the houseguests have been put in sleeping bags, and have to hold on to a bar for as long as they could. Last houseguest holding on would be the new HoH. That's it more or less.....

To be continued in the next episode of this reset season, as in Episode 9

Thank you for reading, and please keep the comments, retweets, likes and shares. All very much appreciated as always

Big Brother Canada 2020 - Episode 7 - Power of Veto

Good day, or as good as it can be given the circumstances in the world at the moment, citizens

We'll get straight down to business today, and in case you missed it from the last episode Rianne and Madeline were put on the block by new HoH Sheldon.

Sheldon claimed there were some easy targets in there, and that he is glad he won HoH. He also claimed Rianne was a big target as she had a good social game. Jamar (this was before his expulsion of course) wanted Kyle on the block. Who can blame him given what we know now.

Brooke, meanwhile, wasn't buying what Rianne was selling as in pitching. Rianne thinks Brooke is basically running Sheldon's HoH. Meanwhile, Vanessa was pitching to Minh about possibly sending Rianne home, when Jamar suddenly walks in.

Angie questioned the current nominations thinking they made no sense, while Rianne was upset about John Luke avoiding a bullet and Angie went full on hatchet trying to throw him under the bus to which Madeline disagreed with, her reason being she needed to keep John Luke as an ally.

Veto picks

Twist alert though, as it will be in pairs for this competition. To cut a long explanation short, whoever is picked to play in this competition will be able to pick their partners. The person picked via random draw who wins the Veto their partner will also be safe as in not eligible to be the replacement nominee.

The pairings were:

Madeline and John Luke
Rianne and Hira
Brooke and Suzanne
Minh and Vanessa
Chris and Kyle

Carol was chosen to host the competition, and just a reminder, in Big Brother Canada the HoH does not play in the Veto competitions until the final 5 stage

In some last minute strategy, Sheldon asks Vanessa and Kyle to throw the comp, something which did not go down well with Vanessa, due to her being a competitor. She then went and told Minh, who in turn passed the information onto Carol and Hira. Carol then passed it on to Kyle, who in then passed it on to Brooke and Sheldon. To say this caused major distrust would be a bit of an understatement, as Vanessa then passed the buck to Minh and they somehow believed her. Oh boy, Vanessa digging her own grave at a rate of knots.

Veto competition

Big Brother Canada Prom night, and good lord a highly inappropriate game given what is happening all around us at the moment.

Let me explain, the pairs have to get 50 balls from their respective punch bowls across the dance floor to the respective glasses. The twist being they could only use their faces, and the balls are floating in the air. First pair to accomplish the goal would win the Veto.

Won't go into huge details about the comp itself, so will just move onto the winners as in Madeline and John Luke. John Luke sure is lucking out this week.

Rianne displays her disappointment, but is happy for Madeline and John Luke. Madeline celebrated her win with us, lucky us eh?

Oh Brooke is so not running Sheldon's HoH here, as she is in Sheldon's ear about who should be the replacement nominee when Madeline inevitably uses the Veto. She thinks it should be Suzanne, while he thinks it should be Minh.

Then in a conversation with Minh, Sheldon tells her that it wouldn't affect his game if she was nominated, and then he tells Jamar Minh would be the one evicted. Jamar tells Minh Sheldon doesn't like her, but leaves out the part about her being the intended target

Back to Sheldon, and he straight out tells Minh she is the target and was thinking of letting the house vote her out. Minh was understandably upset, but didn't pitch too well to change Sheldon's mind.

Veto ceremony

To no great shock, Madeline used the Veto on herself and Sheldon named Minh as the replacement, which upset Jamar greatly.

So Minh v Rianne it is, whether the eviction goes ahead is anyone's guess given recent events so we will have to wait and see what TPTB decide

Find out in episode 8, whether it be an eviction episode or not, and there WILL be some sort of explanation for Jamar's expulsion. What the edit will be like is anyone's guess.

We can't really afford to lose Minh, as she is one of the few entertaining ones in there. Not afraid to say what she thinks, and if the eviction is cancelled I do hope she wins the next HoH and unleashes major fury in that house. Karma is a bitch, and hopefully so is she if she wins HoH.

Links to your right for all your Canada, Australia and USA needs, and a shoutout to BB on Blast who are working on their 3rd episode for this season. Thank you Lynsey and Gaz for putting smiles on faces in these difficult times the world is facing

Big Brother Canada 2020 - Very short episode 6 and some personal experiences

May be a bit short today, citizens, and for the foreseeable future given events in the real world and recent events in the Canada house, which will be elaborated on in the next episode......

Oh eff it, you know what screw spoilers for now, Jamar has been expelled for simply reacting to aggressive goading from Kyle and Jamar didn't even raise his hands at all. Just effing bullshit Kyle is still there as he has been problematic from the start in encouraging people to try and say the N word, and threatening to break Jamar into a million pieces and now all this goading. A boot for Kyle and a simple warning for Jamar in regards to future conduct would have sufficed

Just really stinks, it really does

WTF have we done to deserve this start to 2020. World War 3 narrowly averted, Australia burnt pretty badly, floods in the UK, and now this dam virus understandably closing everything down around the world. The sooner we can show the red card to this virus the better, as this UK government and namely he who is in charge has basically told most of us in the UK to wash our hands, and then eff off and die, while he sits merrily on his big wads of cash watching the rest of us suffer. Then you have these stupid nimrods panic buying and stockpiling toilet roll. Toilet roll, but why? What part of 'this virus will not give you the shits' do these people not understand

Eff's sake, what is the matter with these people, the same nimrods who are going to complain about having no money left, due to their general stupidity and selfishness. At least the elderly and vulnerable can have 2 hours to themselves to get their shopping done, without having said nimrods just barging into the queue and taking up real estate with their full up trollies with stuff they don't need.

This past Saturday, I went to the shop as I needed some bread and little things, and no no toilet paper as I have enough of that. So anyway there I was deciding what to buy, and this little gang of about 6 or 7 little girls came crashing in, screaming their heads off. They looked at me like I had the plague or something, as I let out a sigh of shall we say exasperation as I went about my business and all I got in the end was a loaf of bread and a 12 pack of Walkers Crisps. Anxiety going through the roof all the while as these girls kept on screaming which was only stopped by the shop owner telling them to keep the noise down.

Same anxiety when I went to Sainsbury's for some of the main shop on Tuesday, and was shocked to see how empty the shelves were and this was only mid afternoon, which didn't help my general fear and anxiety. Came out of there with what I could get, amongst other things:

Deodarant
Dairy Milk chocolate bar
Lime and Coriander crisps
6 pack of Hula Hoops
Bread
1 bottle of 2 litre Pepsi Max
Long life milk

Have enough tins and noodles as my dad was kind enough to give me some of that out of the supplies I was supposed to devour when he was away on holiday in Gran Canaria, but now that has been cancelled for a second time, with most countries locking down to stop the spread of this virus.

Before I take a breath, I just want to give a special shoutout to a certain someone overseas who I've known for 16 years who helped calm me down a lot with their kind words, and understanding about my situation in regards to my autism and anxiety. Coming from the heart, thank you so much :) I won't say their name out loud, as I want to respect their privacy but you know who are, and thank you so much for being so patient with me over these 16 years

Anyways in terms of Big Brother Canada, and I am going to keep this short so I don't go off on another tangent

Sheldon won HoH, and nominated Madeline and Rianne

In terms of podcasts, BB on Blast's 2nd pod of this season, and hopefully won't be the last with what is happening in the world, right here

Link is that away >>>>>>>>> in regards to Rob has a Podcast if you want to catch up with live feed discussion, episode recaps, and roundtable discussions

Sorry to go on a bit in this one, but I had to vent somewhere

Just remember though, 1 minute is all it takes to check on family and friends if they need to talk, or even if it's to make sure they are ok with what is currently happening.

Hopefully normal business resumed as of next episode when the Veto is up for grabs. So until then, stay healthy, stay safe, stay frosty and keep on rocking......

Big Brother Canada 2020 - Episode 5 - Eviction

Or is it this week, after Nico self evicted last week

Good day, citizens, and I do hope you are all keeping well and healthy given the world events right now

When we last left our houseguests, Hira had won Veto and used it on himself. Chris then named Michael as the replacement to sit next to Brooke

This episode sees, and this is barring Michael or Brooke self evicting as well, one of those two be the first proper evictee of this season. But of course before that, there is plenty to do as in another challenge for a treat, and the usual campaigning before the dreaded vote

So without further ado, let's get this show on the road, and unfortunately due to said world events there is no audience for this first eviction, bear in mind this is a precautionary measure and hopefully it won't be like this all series....

We pick up where the Veto Ceremony left off, and bizarrely John Luke is kicking off at Chris when this has nothing to do with him as he's not on the block. Haven't these people seen this show before, lies are part of the game. Madeline next up to get her pound of flesh with Chris, as she can see her storyline going out of the window, or in this case the door if Michael goes. Then the man of the moment as in Michael has his swipe as well.

All the while, Chris is very pleased with his handiwork. Let's see if he's smiling when he is eventually nominated and on the block. I stick with my prediction that he will be out long before jury starts.

During his argument with Chris, John Luke picked up a little nugget of information in that someone else was behind the plan to backdoor Michael. John Luke immediately thinks it is Kyle and goes to confront him, and Kyle denies being behind the backdoor plan.

Treat competition

Everyone is participating in this one, and to cut a long story short it's an endurance challenge as they all had to hang in the hot tub area for as long as possible, with the temperature being at 5 degrees celsius and 'raining'. Once you leave the hot tub area, you are out of the competition. The last four houseguests remaining would win a special prize.

A few minutes later with 8 still in the competition, Big Brother then threw in a water balloon tossing competition. Remaining houseguests were split into teams of two and they were:

Angie and John Luke
Susanne and Chris
Hira and Michael
Vanessa and Carol

Angie, John Luke, Hira and Michael eventually ran out winners and the prize was a barbecue for four. Just enough time for John Luke and Michael to pitch for some votes for Michael to stay in.

And no, Minh hasn't disappeared as next up she is eavesdropping on Brooke's attempt to curry favour with Kyle. Not letting the opportunity pass her by, she went and told Michael about Kyle, and without even getting her hands dirty Michael and Kyle went at it. That girl is absolute gold right now, and I do hope she stays in for a long time.

Eviction

And now for the main event of the evening, who goes THEY decide

Usual final speeches to pitch to everyone, although it does seem a formality Michael is out here, which will no doubt please Chris as he has had his eye on Madeline from the start.

The votes to evict went as follows:

To evict Brooke

Rianne
John Luke
Madeline

To evict Micheal

Kyle
Minh-Ly
Susanne
Sheldon
Vanessa
Hira
Angie
Carol
Jamar

Michael was evicted 9-3

He really took his time getting out though, and even swapped saliva with Madeline before he left. Never a bucket around when you need one is there. Although am pleased that this showmance has been knocked on the head before it's even got going.

Beginning of the next HoH Comp

As always with North American Big Brother, the outgoing HoH in this case Chris is not eligible to compete.

This competition is basically a slip and slide and here is how it works. There is a huge ball pit in the centre of the backyard, and it contains many coloured balls. Yellow is the target ball for this one, as the houseguests playing have to find a yellow ball within the pit and put it in someone else's tube but not their own. Once a houseguest has 10 yellow balls in their tube, then they are eliminated from the competition. The last remaining houseguest will be the new HoH, and the first four eliminated would be the have nots for the week.

As always with Canada it starts in one episode, and finishes in the next one

So this is to be continued in episode 6, when we finally find out who will be succeeding Chris as HoH

And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen

Thanks as always for reading these summaries, and please keep the likes, comments, shares and retweets coming in as they are very much appreciated.

A big shout out as always to Lynsey and Gaz over at BB on Blast, as they have dropped their second pod for this season and that is right here

Big Brother Canada 2020 - Episode 4 - Power of Veto

When last we left our new houseguests:

Chris became the first into power for this season when he won HoH, he then set about a 'master plan' in which Brooke and Hira would be nominated as pawns, when in truth his real target has always been Michael

In case you didn't know, Chris has had a soft spot for Madeline from the moment he walked in and he walked in on Michael and Madeline getting cosy, which caused his eyes to go white and his skin to go green. Not literally but you get the jist I hope.

Anyhow, he went through with this so called master plan and put Brooke and Hira on the block, which didn't go down to well with either nominee. In simple English, it's the usual "how dare you nominate me".

So onwards to the Veto episode we go, and the fallout from Chris's nominations.....

And we start with Chris assuring Brooke the Veto will be used on her should he win it, but Brooke was reluctant to believe Chris, and tells us pawns usually go home.

People's favourite Minh, my own words, questioned what would happen if Michael's little group won the Veto and took it upon herself to paint herself as a decoy target should the situation need it.

Chris tells Hira he will also be safe, however he didn't let on who the target would be but Hira promised loyalty anyway.

Madeline, who by this point is really suspicious of Chris's motives, but failed in her interrogation to get much out of him other than the decoy plan of Minh going up, which incidentally he fed to John Luke and Michael as well. Oh boy, this guy is digging his grave.

To the strange case of Minh and Jamar's friendship/possible showmance, and urgh a kiss is shared. Is that kiss one and done, or is there more to come. These two.... I just don't know what to make of them I really don't.

Meanwhile, Rianne is let in on the backdoor Minh decoy plan as...How little they all know what the real scheme is

Veto comp picks

If you didn't know already, in the Canadian version the HoH doesn't play in the Veto comps until final 5.

Joining Brooke and Hira in this competition are Vanessa, Madeline and Carol. Suzanne, as chosen by HoH Chris, will host this competition.

Before the comp, Madeline and Michael are suspicious of Chris's intentions. Madeline convinced herself not to use the Veto, should she win it, just so she can keep her alliance safe. Suzanne, however, convinced them both Minh was the real plan.

Back to the comp, and it's endurance along with memory. Basically the 5 have sleds on their back and have to drag it to the icy water pond in their respective lanes to bob the different coloured fish  out of the water, and take it back to their respective rack. The colours of the fish have to be put in the correct sequence of the picture puzzle. The fish are also different sizes. No penalties for finishing last or no bonus prizes in this one.

To cut a long story short, HIRA completes his puzzle first and wins the first Veto of the season

Back to the scheming and plotting with Minh and Kyle, a most incompatible pair if ever I saw one, but on this occasion they both agreed they need to stick together for the operation backdoor Michael plan.

Meanwhile the latest confirmed lovebirds in Michael and Madeline, both admitted their feelings for each other. Holy mush and all that.

Slop immunity for this week

Some sofa gatherage as the housemates are told Vanessa gets that particular privilege as voted for by Canada. As a Have Not, she gets to choose a really nice meal and it is promptly delivered via the front door.

John Luke and Michael said how much they didn't want to be in Minh's position right now, little knowing they couldn't be further from the truth as they will find out presently if Hira uses the Veto.

In perhaps a little mistake, Minh blabs about wanting to backdoor Kyle to Carol and Vanessa. Little knowing Vanessa is on Kyle's side, to which she promptly goes running to Kyle to tell her of this plan and he then goes running to Chris with the information. Suzanne,Vanessa and Kyle then get in Chris's ear about taking out Minh, but he seems hellbent on taking out his 'love-rival'.

Veto Ceremony

Unsurprisingly, Hira uses the Veto on himself, and in another great non shock, Chris names Michael as the replacement. Madeline was hopping mad at Chris, probably because her only storyline could be going out of the window, or in this case the door if Michael goes. John Luke was a surprise though, does he not know this is a game and he is coming across as a bit of a crybaby with his reaction. Madeline was adamant Chris would go up, should she win HoH next time.

To be continued in Episode 5.....Who goes, THEY decide

Another good episode, and Minh continues to shine. Going to be very interesting to see how Chris goes forward when he is not HoH, as there some laser beams pointing right at him. Think I will stick to my prediction that he will be out long before jury

As for this eviction, hope and think it will be Michael. A wise move so we don't get a showmance shoved in our faces. In two minds about Minh and Jamar right now, so we'll see how that one goes for now.

Anyway, thanks everyone who reads these posts. It is very much appreciated, and please keep any likes, comments, shares, and retweets coming in

Some news in today, that due to the coronavirus concerns there will be no crowd for the not so live eviction, and also that BB USA open auditions are cancelled so it's been switched to online auditions only.

On a lighter note, a shout out to Lynsey and Gaz from BB on Blast, who are at this moment recording their second podcast for this season. If you missed the first one it can be found right here

Big Brother Canada 2020 - Episode 3 - HoH and Nominations

Greeting, citizens, and off we go again

Perhaps not in the way most had planned with Nico self evicting which has split opinions right down the centre

We start the show properly now for this season with the first of many HoH campaigns, and also the first proper nominations for this season.

When we last left the new houseguests, Minh-Ly was causing quite a stir already, which I know a lot of people love when the housemates/houseguests bring the drama, when she and Kyle went at it because she asked that some have respect and be quiet for people sleeping. Then we have a potential new showmance with Chris and Madeline having a few sparks, and the lady of the moment as in Minh with Jamar, although they could be strictly platonic. Have to keep an eye (no pun intended) on that last one.

Anyways back to the task at hand, and namely the first HoH comp

By the way, in case you missed the last post, and where were you?, the HoH comp is basically a wall load of basketball hoops with different scores on them, the highest being 30. Whoever has scored the highest basket once all 15 houseguests have taken their turn will be the new HoH. And yes, there will be have not's as chosen by the new HoH....

Everybody clear now? Good, then let's get started on some action

HoH competition

Scores:

Sheldon - 13
Jamar - 24
John Luke - 23
Minh - 24
Suzanne - 9
Kyle - 13
Carol - 7
Chris - 28
Madeline - 11
Angie - 5
Brooke - 5
Michael - 24
Hira - 20
Rianne - 1
Vanessa - 26

Winner and first HoH of the season - CHRIS

Chris asks for volunteers for have not's, guy's a chicken....The amount of bragging already, classic case of HoH-itis

Kyle, Madeline, Michael and Vanessa volunteer for have not's

Brooke, at this point, is concerned Chris wants to align with the bro's and that she does not fit into his plans. Chris, smug as ever, said he was just getting started with his HoH reign.

We find out a new alliance, novelly called KVBS (as in Kyle, Vanessa, Brooke and Sheldon). Meanwhile Michael and Madeline are only making eyes for each other, and she tells us in private that she thinks Michael is cute. Oh please, pass the buckets now.

Chris's so called 'master plan' was to recruit Suzanne, Minh and Vanessa. But he thought he was being played.....

Back to the other potential showmance of the house, Minh and Jamar go back and forth and Jamar admits feelings for Minh, which can only be described as holy awkward. Then back to Chris, as Madeline suggests taking out Minh to appease the house, pitching her and Chris could work together down the road.

Who wants to see my HoH room

Usual segment where the HoH reveals what the room looks like to everyone else. He received a gift of some new shoes, along with the customary pictures of family and also a message from home.

And let us not forget the obligatory Wendy's meal that the houseguests get when they are HoH.

Reminder the HoH can pick someone in the house to share their meal with them.

This week, Chris has picked Kyle to share his meal, but there is a new twist for Wendy's as the friends and family of the HoH serve the meal instead of former houseguests

Somewhat awkwardly, Chris does not recognise his own mother serving him....Good start, Mr Brainiac ;)

In terms of other houseguests, Hira suggested to Rianne that Chris would go after a guy.

Have Not Room revealed

Very nicely done as always from the Canadian crew, as in it's a swamp this year with very little room to move.

Mass flirting ahoy, as we get treated to Minh and Jamar, and also Michael and Madeline. Hold the front page though, as Chris walks in on Michael and Madeline, and to say Chris turned a little green with jealousy would be an understatement. Consider yourself a target, Michael.

Kyle pretends to go along with the nominate Michael plan, or the plan B of backdooring him or Sheldon. He then reveals Brooke and Hira will go on the block as pawns.

Kyle then reveals Chris's plan to nominate Brooke, to which Brooke did not take too well. Sort of 'how dare he nominate me'

Chris then tries to compliment Brooke, to which Brooke is skeptical and with good cause given she's been tipped off. Chris then just comes out and says she is being nominated, which she took at face value...... for now

Kyle and Sheldon then agree on an 'alliance' to keep in good with Chris, and also to keep themselves safe. Chris then reveals he WILL backdoor Michael. Jealousy is not a nice feature, this is because he wants Madeline and be the showmance. Certainly in my opinion anyway.

Nominations

In the first nominations of the season, Chris nominates BROOKE and HIRA

Reasons being Hira hasn't spoken any game yet, wow major emergency. We are only in the first few days, and as the old saying goes "It is always the quiet ones to look out for"

As for reasoning with Brooke, Chris says they haven't spoken any game. That's it....

Brooke and Hira are not happy to be nominated, "How dare you nominate me" as you know by now.

Hira vows to win the Veto, and Brooke vows to put Chris on the block should she be in the house next week and is HoH

To be continued in episode 4 when the Power of Veto is up for grabs

Thank you everyone who reads these posts, it's very much appreciated. Please keep the views, comments, shares, like and retweets coming, all are very much appreciated.

Post show analysis - It does feel like who is going to be the first to really overplay, as this lot are so much better than last year already. Chris, I feel, is going to be out long before jury. However Minh is a real fire cracker in there, and there is so much more to come from her. Not afraid to say what she thinks, and so far doing exactly what she said on the tin. I do feel there is genuine chemistry there between her and Jamar, much more than Michael and Madeline. Although I do feel that that second showmance, if you can call it that, will be very short lived.

Exciting time ahead in this series, and we are only just getting started

Big Brother Canada 2020 - Episode 2 - Launch pt.2 and Eviction

Greetings, citizens, as we head into the concluding part of the launch

In case you missed it on the way in, Minh-Ly won the first comp of the season when she successfully saved her car from falling and crashing, and now it's up Chris, Suzanne or Nico to win the mental comp as whoever wins this one will join Minh-Ly in being safe

We pick episode 2 up with Arisa recapping the house action from the previous episode, and then she advises there is something coming up in this current episode, that has never happened before in Big Brother Canada

If you need to refresh about the houseguests, their bios can be found in the episode 1 post....

From the looks of things, Nico is already feeling sad and Suzanne is cool on the surface, but very scared inside.

Minh-Ly has such a great personality, but feel she could overplay down the line. I know already what some would say as in 'If she goes at any point, this season instantly gets very boring' or words to that effect.

Chris seems very confident about winning the mental comp, especially with his job title. Brain Transformation Specialist, in case you missed it

Whoever thought the suit John Luke is wearing looks smart...Jeez, he looks like an accident in a paintworks factory

Just when people thought it would be Michael and Madeline for the showmance, now it seems there is a spark between her and resident brain guy Chris

Back to Minh-Ly and she strikes up a conversation with Jamar, some real chemistry there. Could these two be a contender for a showmance, I wonder. Seems likely, but could that work against Minh's popularity down the line. Watch that space I would say.

Nico's complaining about not feeling too good, and saying how tough things are feeling already.Sticking within the Be Kind protocol, what did he think he was signing up for when he signed up for this show?

Safety comp 2

We see Chris meditating several times before this challenge actually starts, can't see this guy lasting too long as this brain stuff could get annoying for them if he keeps jibber jabbering about it.

This next competition is called Sold Separately and Angie is hosting

It is a visual/true or false competition where some of the houseguests are dressed up as figures as in,

John Luke as Floater
Madeline & Micheal as Showmancers
Vanessa as Bitter Juror
Kyle as Comp Beast

Reminder this is only Nico, Chris and Suzanne playing as the remaining 3 bottom of the vote

To cut a long story short, Chris won and will be safe from the first eviction, meaning Nico and Suzanne will be on the block and facing their fellow houseguests vote

Over to Suzanne and Nico to start their campaigning to stay in, and immediately Jamar goes to comfort Suzanne after he sees her crying, and tells her he will make sure he is ok.

Shortly afterwards, Suzanne officially kicks into motion for her campaigning roping in Carol and Brooke. She also looked to bring in Sheldon, Kyle and Vanessa, and it should be noted Sheldon did show great interest in joining this particular group.

Back to Minh-Ly, and we see a big blow up between her and Kyle as Kyle was cheesed off with her attitude. What we didn't see was her asking for people to be quiet in the bedroom when others are sleeping. A little trivial, but already she is winding some up but she does need to be careful.

Rianne, John Luke, Michael and Madeline agreed on a 4 person alliance called the Evictors. Heard better but it will do for now. Meanwhile, Minh-Ly and Nico had a little chat about trying to save him. The guy already seems defeated to going, this is going to take some major work. Minh-Ly then planted the seed that Suzanne was the bigger threat. Then in her own mind to make things 'interesting', Minh-Ly goes straight to Carol, Vanessa, Hira and Sheldon for a keep Nico in pitch.

Could that have been a mistake on Minh's part, as Carol and Vanessa went straight to Suzanne, and needless to say Suzanne didn't take it to well and effectively put a bullseye on Minh's back

Self - eviction

Now to the part which caused split opinion given the current discussions about mental health both here and over there in Canada. Nico has complained about not feeling well, and has already packed resigning himself to the first exit. He said there was just no fight in him, and went to the diary room to talk to someone backstage. After a while, one of the Executive producers called the remaining houseguests to the living area, where they were told Nico had self-evicted, and won't be coming back.

In simple terms, the eviction was cancelled and Suzanne was safe for at least another week

On one hand it could be debated that if Nico knew what he was signing up for when he applied, and he wasted the chance for someone else to go in there who actually wanted to be there.

On the other hand, best leave now for your own peace of mind and not risk any permanent damage. Can't be easy when you are told Canada hates you out loud, this is one of the problems with giving houseguests or housemates outside information like mean tweets or poll results like this. Not everyone has thick skin and can take it. UK Big Brother absolutely revelled in giving housemates outside information, especially in the final years in the Five era.

Anyways sermon over, and onto

HoH competition

Basketball themed and it's basically whoever gets the highest scored basket will be the new HoH. As the show ends, Minh and Jamar are highest scorers with 24.......and that's a wrap for this episode with the winner being revealed in episode 3

Thank you for reading these posts, and I hope I will do a good job for all three series this year

Big Brother Canada 2020 - Episode 1 - Launch

Greetings and welcome, citizens, to a brand new mint fresh decade and a whole new year of Big Brother. Well internationally at least, and with a new decade we welcome back Australia to the Big Brother family.

But back to the present, and it's Canada up first and now mum of THREE Arisa, who may I say is looking particularly fab as she heads out of the eye to kick off proceedings

This year's theme is superheroes and comic books, as shown from the houseguests intro's

First group in is Brooke, Angie, Chris, Kyle, Minh-Ly, and Sheldon

For the number crunchers and stats people amongst us, Kyle was first through the door. Can he beat the first in curse of the civilian Big Brother in North America?

Group 2 is Carol, Suzanne, Jamar, Madeline, and Michael

Group 3 is Nico, Vanessa, Rianne, John Luke, and Hira

Houseguests bios right here along with their interviews with former houseguest Ika, courtesy of Big Blagger. No Edmondtonians in this series at least not yet, but Alberta is well represented, along with the first houseguest from Prince Edward Island

Early observations as they are mingling, in that Michael is gunning for a showmance already and makes a beeline for Madeline, and they are certain something is going to happen as they have already christened themselves M&M. Holy mush, as Burt Ward's Robin once said

Anyways, if you followed the show on Twitter, you would know there has been a viewers vote for a few days, and the four houseguests with the fewest votes as in a favourite houseguest poll will participate in two challenges, one involving strength which is played out in this episode and a mental challenge.

After some mingling, Arisa gathered them to the living area and explained there would be no HoH this week, and about the aforementioned vote.

Facing the strength challenge as they were the bottom four in the vote would be SUZANNE, NICO, CHRIS and MINH-LY

Strength challenge

Think of this as an endurance challenge, as the four participants had to grab a rope and pull on it to keep their 'cars' from going over the edge. Each car was built to distribute proportionally to the houseguests respective body weights, if that makes sense.

Chris crashed out first, followed by Nico and then Suzanne. So that means Minh-Ly won safety for the week, and now it's down to the other three for the mental challenge and the second safety spot. This will play out in the next episode, along with the first eviction of the season

That's about it really......

Post show analysis - Really good start I have to say, and some really good potential in there. Minh-Ly showing the boys how it should be done with that first challenge, and earning her safety. Definitely one to watch there in terms of the competitions. Some really good personalities, but best not get too attached to any one person yet, as there will always be a few who start off as social media or forum favourites but will say or do something stupid to get the boot, whether it be before or during when the jury places are decided.

As per with Canada, there will be a Wendy's meal for the HoH's when they get started, along with haves and have nots and may I say a beautiful looking house. If you wish to see the house in its splendour, click right here

That all being said, a big welcome to the first members of the Big Brother family for 2020, and good luck to them as they start their journey towards the big prize at the end.

To be continued in episode 2 as what's left of launch night reaches its conclusion.....

Suzanne, Chris and Nico face a mental challenge, which will be described in greater detail when it arrives

In closing, be sure to join Lynsey and Gaz on BB on Blast when they begin their podcasts for this season, and also Rob and the team over at Rob has a Website for all your show recaps, round tables and live feed discussions once the feeds are up for the season.
