Celebrity Big Brother USA 2019 - Finale

At last, welcome one and all, citizens to the finale recap for CBB USA 2019, and apologies it is so late.

This final episode sees who will follow in Marissa's footsteps as winner, with the remaining 5 whittled down to one and also we see who gets America's Favourite Houseguest.

So without further ado, let's get this show on the road. Take it away, Julie.

After welcoming us in, Julie explains how the evening will go, and there is quite a lot to get through as:

HoH, Veto, 5th place comes out, Final HoH, Jury Vote, Winner is crowned. Add to that various interviews to fill the time, including one with quitter, and he is a quitter even though production want people to believe differently, Anthony.

In case you missed it elsewhere, there is a twist as once the final HoH of the season is crowned he or she will have to choose two houseguests to evict as there will be no Veto in the final four, and the remaining houseguest left with the HoH moves into the final two to compete for the $250,000 top prize

Think that's about the size of the evening, and now down to business of getting this winner crowned....

HoH competition

The first HoH competition of the evening is called Bats, The Musical. Last year's winner, Marissa, will be hosting. The houseguests except Lolo as she was ineligible due to being outgoing HoH, that is Ricky, Tamar, Dina and Kandi, will have 20 seconds every time they push their button to enrgise the magnetized board. If they failed to get back to their buttons before the 20 seconds was up then the pieces would fall off the board, and they would have to start again. The houseguest who assembles their puzzle correctly and hits their button first, becomes the next HoH

And that particular honour went to RICKY, and now with only four to choose from must nominate two for eviction pre-Veto.

He nominated DINA and KANDI.....but there is still the Veto to come and as there are only 5 houseguests left, everyone gets to play in this one.

Veto competition

This competition is called Veto Heist, and here is how it works. Each houseguest gets to play and they have to break into the Celebrity Museum and steal artefacts from this season and get out without hitting the lasers as that will add on precious time to their final times. They each have a case to which they must find said artefacts through clues given, and store them in their provided cases. If they trigger the alarms via the lasers, then they must hit a button to stop the alarms eating up more precious seconds. The fastest houseguest will win the final Veto of this season

Order of play:

Ricky - 9.21
Lolo - 5.08
Dina - 17.34
Tamar - 13.22
Kandi - 9.53

And by that reckoning, Lolo wins the final Veto of the season and stamps her place in the final 4 with Ricky.

She decided not to use the Veto, so Tamar is also guaranteed final 4 with Dina or Kandi falling at this particular hurdle. But we have to wait to find out who is going to finish in 5th as we have some pointless filler on the way in the form of Anthony the Quitter getting an interview.

Anthony will not be on the jury nor is he eligible to win America's Favourite Houseguest. Oh boy has he been prepped, as he talks in detail about the 'fake housemate' twist. Who do they think they are fooling with this twist, when it's obvious to everyone this is just a cover story to gloss over that he quit the show. Tak then turn to politics, which we don't really need as this is Big Brother not some daily politics show. Send him on his way, wherever that is.

Back to the matter at hand after that brief interruption, and it's Dina v Kandi to see who will finish 5th place. As you know, the nominees are not allowed to vote, and as HoH Ricky will only vote in the event of a tie. After the usual pleas to stay in, the vote went:

Lolo voted to evict Kandi
Tamar voted to evict Dina

A rare deadlock, so Ricky has the casting vote and he decided to get rid of KANDI. Not too surprising, but potentially dangerous if Dina makes it to final 2.

In her interview with Julie, Tamar is feeling emotional as she admits her and Tamar have managed to build some bridges and believes they will be friends outside of the house once the season is over. Ultimately she is disappointed that she was evicted, and thinks Ricky made a mistake and admits she would have taken Ricky to final 2 had she won the final HoH.

Back to business, and we are down to the final 4 for this season and it will be all to play for as Ricky is eligible to play for this final HoH. Either Tamar, Ricky, Lolo or Dina will make the final 2 and I really don't envy them the decision whoever is HoH in a little while

Final HoH competition

The final four will be judges at the Junior Celebrity Lookalike competition, and it's a multiple choice question kind of competition as in three statements, and one of them is false. The final 4 must choose A, B or C to get a point. No penalties for wrong answers as in gunge or anything like that. The competition will be 7 rounds, and the highest scoring houseguest will be crowned the final HoH of the season, and if there is a tie at the end of 7 rounds then there will be a tie breaker

Order of appearance:

Tom Junior

Ryan Junior
Natalie Junior
Kato Junior
Anthony Junior
Jonathan Junior
Joey Junior

The final scores ended up being:

Lolo - 5
Ricky - 6
Tamar - 6
Dina -1

Ricky and Tamar will face the tiebreaker question, "In hours, how long was it from when Kevin Frazier announced the first piece of breaking news, to when it was announced that the Breaking News twist was over?"

Ricky - 185 hours
Tamar - 15 hours

Ricky once again was crowned HoH, and he stamps his place in the final 2. Now who will he take, let us all find out as Julie announces he has to make his decision almost immediately. Some last minute pleas from the remaining ladies ensues, but he ultimately opts to evict LOLO and DINA.

Final two will be RICKY and TAMAR, and 2 firsts in North American Big Brother as in an all black final 2, and also a first black winner is guaranteed.

Now to say Lolo is upset would be a massive understatement, but at least Dina took it in good grace. Lolo acting like a VERY sore loser, but seemed very confident Ricky made the right move as she would have probably got more votes to win had she made final 2. But on the other side of the coin, she said they probably won't be friends outside of the house.

Meanwhile, Dina, who is a lot calmer by the way says she was surprised she lasted as long as she did. To be frank, I'm surprised as well as she did nothing to merit getting this far, although I am happy she is gone as there was a real danger she would actually win, and I don't think that would have gone down too well in the general fandom.

Time to rumble as we head back to the final two of Tamar and Ricky, the mad woman versus the fink of the series.

Normally about now the jury would have been in lockdown, but with the celebrities they are allowed to watch, and this is absolutely genuine in that they don't know how this finale has gone down until now.

Jury - Ryan, Natalie, Joey, Jonathan, Kato, Lolo, Dina, Tom and Kandi.

In case you missed it earlier, Anthony is NOT on the jury so will not be casting a vote

Some questions follow, and then Tamar and Ricky give their final pleas, and then some more filler as in reuniting the jury and Anthony and having a little chat with everyone. It is THAT time now as Julie announces it is time to vote.

After the votes are cast, Julie goes on to reveal that Tamar had a secret power as in the Power of the Publicist power. Tamar revealed how hard it was to keep that power under wraps, but wouldn't have used it as she didn't want create any negativity.

This is it, time to end this season with the announcements of both winner and America's Favourite Houseguest

The votes are in from the jury:

Jonathan voted TAMAR
Ryan voted TAMAR
Joey voted TAMAR
Kato voted TAMAR
Natalie voted TAMAR
Tom voted TAMAR
Kandi voted TAMAR
Dina voted TAMAR
Lolo voted TAMAR

Pretty unanimous really, and only the second time a unanimous vote to win has happened. The first time was way back in the civilian series of 2008 when Dan Gheesling took the honours

Ladies and gentlemen your 2019 celebrity series winner is TAMAR, and America's Favourite Houseguest is TOM

Tamar takes home $250,000, Ricky takes home $50,000 and Tom wins $25,000

As stated earlier, a number of firsts as in the first ever all black final 2 and also the first ever black winner of North American Big Brother.

Final thoughts

A very satisfactory series in which everyone played their part, ultimately it was Tamar who took the honours and I am not too upset with that. The finale didn't drag and flew by very quickly. Thoughts now turn to Big Brother Canada 2019 which premieres on March 6 (local time that is) and early morning March 7, and I will return to recap the episodes.

In closing, please be sure to check out the links on the right for all your USA, Canada and UK news concerning Big Brother.

Thank you everyone who has popped in to read my recaps, and I do hope I have done a good job

Onwards and upwards to Big Brother Canada, hope to see you there as we start the first of two very long slogs, the other being Civilian USA in mid to late summer.

Celebrity Big Brother USA 2019 - Episode 11 - Power of Veto and Double Eviction

And so we move into the final straight, citizens, with a DOUBLE Eviction night upon us

In case you don't know, this episode sees the previous Power of Veto, the meeting and the first celebrity out the door. Then it's straight down to business shortly afterwards as it's an HoH competition, Veto and Eviction where the 2nd housemates will get their marching orders. The final five will be the finalists for this year's CBB USA.

Final five order of play will be covered in the next post, which will be the finale post for this series.

So without further ado, let us all find out who were the unlucky two to take the walk to Julie and we pick up the action after Tom has nominated Ricky and Natalie.

Sour faces all round on one side of the house with Ricky and Natalie in the customary "how dare he nominate me" mode, meanwhile Tom is pondering the scenarios that could arise should he or one of his alliance members in Dina, Tamar or Kandi win the Veto. Count Dina out right away, she's floating to the end. Back to matters, and it looks like Operation Backdoor Lolo should this side of the house wins Veto.

On the other side of the house, everyone is determined to win the Veto but the situation is looking pretty grim for them, but top marks for determination I suppose.

Veto picks and competition

Tom, Natalie and Ricky will play automatically, and chosen by random draw to play will be Tamar, Dina and Kandi. Oh well, Lolo's goose and plans are effectively cooked I would say, miracle needed and Lolo knows it.

This competition is called Color Blast, and here is how it works. Memory game with the players having to memorise a random order of colours played in a sequence and then they have to answer a question on said sequence by pressing the colour button or buttons in front of them. If they are incorrect then they will be splattered with a lot of paint and eliminated from the competition.

Order of elimination:

Round 1 - Ricky
Round 2 - Tamar and Kandi
Round 3 - Natalie and Dina

Tom wins the Power of Veto, and made Ricky his immediate target. Tom is thinking Ricky is running things on the other side of the house, another wrong guess on his part. He then insists Kandi vote out Tom, effectively blackmailing her with the alternative that if she did not agree to this he would take down Natalie and put up Tamar as a replacement. Oh boy, naturally that went down like a lead balloon with Kandi, and Kandi went storming to Tamar and reported this. Hope Tom has batoned down the hatches as here comes Hurricane Tamar making landfall

Here she comes, and as usual the screaming starts right away. She is off on one with him, and doesn't listen to a word he says. Tom then decides 'no more revealing plans' not even to us out here. Yeah right whatever, Tom. Shortly afterwards while he is by himself in the HoH room, Tom reveals there is a surprise coming in the Veto meeting. So much for his little secrets.

Veto meeting

Tom decides to use the Veto and he saves RICKY, and puts Lolo on the block in his place. So we are definitely going to lose one of the so called mean girls in this first eviction

Off we go...

Eviction #1

Ricky will only vote if there is a tie, and Natalie and Lolo are not allowed to vote

To cut a long story short, the rest of them as in Ricky, Dina, Kandi and Tamar voted out Natalie

Evicted by a vote of 4-0 is NATALIE. Very short interview with her as there is a lot to get through tonight, and she says she's annoyed she didn't get the HoH or Veto this week to keep her in.

No time to waste, as we have the final Breaking News twist of the season as Julie announces that there will be a Save Yourself competition, in which the winner will be immune from the second eviction of the night. But there is a catch as said winner will NOT be allowed to compete in the HoH competition.

Safety Competition

This competition is called Living Art and basically it's just a mass scramble from everyone to count the number of people in the house disguised as art within a 90 second time limit. That's all there is to it, and the houseguest who gets the answer spot on or near enough is safe from the next eviction, but cannot play in the HoH competition.

Lots of scrambling about ensues, and eventually the answer is revealed as 22 and Tamar is closest with 19, thereby saving herself from the next eviction but putting her out of the HoH competition

HoH competition

Slightly different competition now as the houseguests have to determine how many of the living art guests have left the house, and Tom is not eligible to play as outgoing HoH and Tamar is out of this one as well. Very short competition, and we have our next HoH in LOLO who correctly guessed 7 living art guests remained. Julie announces Lolo will make her nominations shortly.

Lolo nominates TOM, for being a good competition player and, after taking so long for nominating and being threatened to be stripped of the HoH by Julie, Lolo nominates KANDI.

Veto competition

No need for picks in this one as there are 6 houseguests left, so everyone is playing. This competition is a True or False, and it's called Cousins. This involves the houseguests watching a short snippet of a sitcom involving two houseguests from last year in Ross and Meta and Julie will ask them questions once the snippet is done. Whoever scores highest will win the Veto.

The first three rounds finish all square. Round 4 sees Dina, Tamar, Tom and Kandi slip up. Round 5, Lolo and Dina slip up. Round 6 sees Tom, Dina, Lola and Ricky slip up. In the end there is a tie between Ricky and Tamar in which they had to guess the number of seconds the sitcom ran for, and TAMAR ends up getting the closest and she wins the Veto.

Veto meeting

Tamar decides NOT to use the Veto, so Tom or Kandi will be leaving in the second eviction

Eviction

Tom and Kandi are not allowed to vote, and neither is HoH Lola as there are an even number of houseguests

Dina, Tamar and Ricky all voted out Tom, and he leaves the house

In his interview with Julie, he says he is very grateful for this opportunity and in a little bit of surprise says he is rooting for Lolo to win the series.

Once his interview is done, Julie goes back to the house and explains to them how things will work heading to finale night

  • Final 5 HoH - Lolo ineligible to play as outgoing HoH
  • Veto - Everyone will play
  • 5th place evicted
  • Final 4 HoH
  • Double eviction where the HoH has to get rid of 2 housemates, and then take the remaining houseguest to the final 2

To be concluded in the Finale episode, as I will be skipping over the season recap episode

Final thoughts

And so here we are at the final 5, and not been a bad series overall I would say. One more post to come and then it's a short hiatus before this recapper returns in March for the longer slog of Big Brother Canada which run nicely all the way through to late spring/early summer. Anyone but Dina to win this series, as Dina has just floated through doing nothing. Tamar and Lolo have brought the energy and some would say madness, Ricky has brought the finkiness, heck even Kandi has emerged as a contender.

Thank you to those who are reading my posts, it is very much appreciated. I may not have much knowledge of this North American format, but I am trying my best. All likes, shares, comments and RT's are very much appreciated.

Celebrity Big Brother USA 2019 - Episode 10 - HoH and Nominations 5

Another houseguest down, as Kato was evicted 5-0 and this next episode sees the next HoH crowned, as the finish line is in sight with only a few days left before we find out who follows in Marissa's footsteps as the next celebrity winner.

We pick up the action after Kato's eviction....

Tamar's her usual mad self as she celebrates getting Kato evicted, while Lolo and Natalie regroup and plan their strategy and it looks like Operation: Get Tom Out is gathering pace should one of Lolo or Natalie win HoH

The rarely seen Kandi is now making moves to get Tom in the alliance, and boy is he going to need some players on his side with the pending threat of Lolo and Natalie hovering ready to strike.

Meanwhile back with Lolo and Natalie, Lolo is already pitching Tom and Kandi for the block to Finky Ricky should the HoH power fall in her lap.

Meanwhile back with the others, and Kandi is pitching to Tom about targetting Lolo and Natalie should the HoH be won. It's about time those two (Lolo and Natalie) were split up, if I were in there I would be very much in favour of that.

HoH competition

As outgoing HoH, Tamar is not eligible to play this competition. A special guest host for this competition, ladies and gentlemen introducing series 1 favourite Omarosa. A very Vegas feel to this competition, with the backyard resembling a casino and the competition called Celebrity Tumbling Dice. The aim of the game is to get on their platform with the right dice number facing upwards. Omarosa will spin the wheel, and the dice number the wheel stops on will be the target number. Think hamster wheels and such, as the houseguests will be inside the dice, and have to move around inside it with the correct number shown when they get back on their platform. Houseguests will compete in pairs and there are no penalties for being eliminated.

Order of play:

Tom v Ricky - Tom wins
Lolo v Tom - Tom wins
Natalie v Dina - Natalie wins
Kandi v Natalie - Natalie wins
Tom v Natalie - Tom wins

Once again, Tom is in power as HoH and saves himself again. Should be a safe bet he will take the shot at splitting up Lolo and Natalie. Kandi, who is coming back into the foreground, points out to Tom about her loyalty to him by choosing to play against Natalie instead of him. Boost of confidence to Tom, that he does have at least one ally in Kandi.

Lots of servings of paranoia with Lolo and Natalie especially, as they get the jist that it will be them taking the block seats. Another rare sighting, this time of Dina, as she gets in Tom's ear about putting up Lolo and Natalie. She has only just noticed about Lolo and Natalie being meanies since the start, where the hell has she been hiding all this time?

Natalie, by this point, is throwing her toys out of the pram about Kandi allegedly turning her back on the mean girls alliance. Doesn't Natalie even know what this format entails. All because she didn't get it all her own way with this HoH competition, and now she says Kandi is dead to her. Welcome to Big Brother, Natalie, in case you didn't notice, and enjoy those sour grapes you seem to have found.

Some jury management from Tom I would assume. Lolo and Ricky are assured they are both pawns, while some fancy footwork from Tom with Lolo to makes sure he stays off the block when the next nominations come around and if she's still there. But there are some machinations from Tom, as he admits to us in the Diary Room that he needs to make sure Ricky doesn't report back to the girls. Wise move, as he simply cannot be trusted and would tip everyone else off, hence why I've christened him Finky Ricky all this time.

And before we head into the next nominations ceremony, Ricky tries some last minute pitching to make sure Tom doesn't put him, Lolo or Natalie on the block. Tsk tsk, if only you knew Ricky. Tom falsely agrees to this as I think he is pretty clear who he is putting on the block pre-Veto.

Nominations ceremony

After a chat with Kandi, Tom decides to put Natalie and Finky Ricky on the block pre-Veto. Natalie, still chomping on those sour grapes from earlier, is not happy and another 'How dare they nominate me' moment ensues, leaving Lolo and Natalie saying they will be going hell for leather in the Veto competition.

Will one of them do it, tune in to Episode 11 and it's a 2 hour show covering the Veto competition, Veto ceremony and it's also a DOUBLE eviction episode

Final thoughts

Welcome back to the game, Kandi, and finally Natalie and Lolo are going to be broken up at long last if they don't have a last minute change of mind. I for one will be glad to see the back of Natalie if she goes, much like in WWE she doesn't care who she treads on to get a few rungs up the ladder.

Thank you to those who are reading my posts, it is very much appreciated. I may not have much knowledge of this North American format, but I am trying my best. All likes, shares, comments and RT's are very much appreciated.

Celebrity Big Brother USA 2019 - Episode 9 - HoH, Veto and Eviction 4

When we last left the houseguests, Joey was evicted 6-0

Outgoing HoH was Tom and Veto winner was Natalie. Trench warfare would be the most adequate terms to describe most of the alliances.

Tonight sees all the power in the house up for grabs as it's a 3 for the price of one episode, as in HoH, Veto AND the fourth eviction all in the same episode.

We pick up the action after Joey's eviction, and the 3 for the price of one episode is off and running.

Tamar's Power of the Publicist is still active, but will expire if she doesn't use it in this episode. She can only use it on herself if she finds herself on the block whether it be via the nominations ceremony or veto meeting if the Veto is used and she is named as a replacement.

It would seem Tamar changed her mind very last minute about voting Kandi out, and then Natalie and Lolo followed suit. That thing called a target I would assume from Kandi, should Kandi win the next HoH.

Not wasting any time with this episode, as there is so much to get through in this jam packed episode, so moving swiftly on to.....

HoH competition

As outgoing HoH, Tom is not eligible to play this competition. The name of this competition is called Picture Imperfect and here is how it works. Houseguests (except obviously Tom) will pair off in a series of rounds, and they will get shown various magazine covers and have a choice of A, B or C to which picture is wrong as in a visual error. This requires a sharp eye. No penalties in this one for not winning. Losing housemates are eliminated, while their opponent advances.

Order of play:

Tamar v Finky Ricky - Ricky eliminated
Kato v Kandi - Kandi eliminated
Lolo v Natalie - Natalie eliminated
Dina v Kato - Dina eliminated
Tamar v Lolo - Lolo eliminated
Kato v Tamar - Kato

Winner and new HoH - TAMAR

Downside is Tamar cannot use her power, and it will expire

Nominations ceremony

Tamar nominates Kato and Tom, explaining that this wasn't personal and was just gameplay as she sees them as the bigger threats. She also confides in Kandi and Dina, that she has plans for Lolo and Natalie as in putting one of them on the block, should Tom or Kato win Veto and use it to save themselves.

Veto picks and competition

Joining Tamar, Kato and Tom in the Veto competition will be Lolo, Kandi and Dina as determined by random draw. We and them are treated to a performance courtesy of the comedian known as Gallagher. Julie tells them to to observe this performance closely, most likely due to a incoming memory test on how much they remember.

And as expected, out in the backyard it's the setup for a True or False questions. One point for each correct answer and the houseguest who is the highest scorer will win the Power of Veto. Again, no penalties for finishing last. It will be 7 questions, and if there is a tie then there will be a tiebreaker.

Scores after the 7 questions:

Kato - 5
Tom - 3
Tamar - 5
Lolo - 7
Dina - 4
Kandi - 5

The equally mad Lolo finally gets her first comp win, and will make her decision about using the Veto shortly. Julie reminds her to use the time to make her decision wisely.

Veto meeting

Lolo has made her decision, and to no shock she decides NOT to use the Veto so Tom or Kato will definitely be leaving shortly. Julie also announces the Power of the Publicist has now expired, but she does not mention that Tamar was the holder of the power. Due to an executive decision, she says she is not allowed to announce the Superbowl result, but will tell whoever comes out next.

Eviction vote

Nominees nor Tamar as HoH are not allowed to vote

Off we go....

Another landslide vote as everyone who is allowed to vote chooses to evict Kato

Evictee - Kato by a vote of 5-0

Kato admits in not so many words that he was not expecting to go tonight by a huge margin, and thought Tom was effectively out the door. He goes on to say how his alliance with Lolo was formed, despite his misgivings about her betraying Jonathan and Ryan.

To be continued in episode 10, when the next HoH is crowned and we see their nominations. Julie also plugs Episode 11 in which there will be a double eviction, and it's a two hour show.

Final thoughts

So the ladies reign supreme as we get ever closer to the finishing line, and the men are down to two in Finky Ricky and Tom. Still think a lady is going to win this series. Just looking at the contenders now, two mad women in Lolo and Tamar, fame hungry Natalie, Kandi's just faded into the background a little and Dina's just floating along doing nothing.

For laughs, it would be very amusing to see a Lolo v Tamar final 2...Forget One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, this has been Two Flew into the Big Brother House.

Competition wise, Natalie v Lolo....Just can't warm to Natalie, just my personal opinion she doesn't care who she treads on to get a few more rungs up that fame ladder. As said before she never really respected the WWE business.

Kandi v Dina.....Zzzzzzz 'nuff said

Tamar v anybody....Like her or not, Tamar has brought some much needed energy to this house even if she is as mad as they come. I wouldn't be upset if she won, but she does overdo it on occasions which is a bit of a bummer, and would probably fly into orbit if she is named winner.

As for the two men left, at least one of them out before the finale I reckon. Finky Ricky has lived up to his name, and just can't be trusted and will fall at the last hurdle

At this moment, I am going to go for Tom v Lolo as final two, but that is subject to change

Monday 4 February 2019

Celebrity Big Brother USA 2019 - Episode 8 - Power of Veto and Eviction 3

When we last left our cracking up housemates:

Tom had won HoH, and decided to put up Kandi and Joey, based on his gut feeling that one of them had the Power of the Publicist power which can be used once and once only up for the next nominations or next 2 Veto meetings.

He of course was totally wrong, as it was Mad as a March Hare Tamar who had been given the power by the USA voters

In this episode we have another Veto and then Eviction 3 takes place. The finish line is in sight as another celebrity is sent packing, and those remaining try to build some late alliances

We pick up the action after Tom's nominations.....

Kandi is not taking her nomination particularly well, and she does have a point as she is an innocent party this time. Meanwhile, plotting between Tom and Kato continues into another day as the plan is to now backdoor Finky Ricky, providing the Veto is used.

Meanwhile Kato and Finky Ricky are having it out with the other mad person of the house in Lolo, this time about Ricky being the 5th member of the only stable alliance in the house. Look out, Mount Lolo is about to erupt as she confronts Tom and very loudly tells him about his paranoia. She then tells him she can't play with emotional players. Pot meet kettle, Lola. Don't accuse someone of doing something you are equally guilty of doing, what is your problem?

Veto picks and competition

Joining Tom, Kandi and Joey in this game will be Natalie, Lolo and Dina

The competition is called Kick the Competition and here is how it works. Two at a time, the houseguests will try to kick field goals. The first of the two to kick 3 field goals will win their round, then the next two houseguests will take their turn and so on

Lola v Dina - Lola wins
Joey v Tom - Tom wins
Kandi v Tom - Tom wins
Natalie v Tom - Natalie wins
Lolo v Natalie - Natalie wins

Winner and Power of Veto holder - Natalie

She tells us the Veto will NOT be used, just so Ricky can't be backdoored

Veto ceremony

Natalie sticks to her word, and does NOT use the Veto. Tom is not looking happy with this, and claims it is RIP to the alliance with the girls. So the battlelines are drawn between Natalie and Lola, and in the other corner Kato and Tom, according to Finky Ricky that is.

Natalie and Lola try to make Tom believe that he didn't even try to discuss strategy as far the Veto went. Ricky, knowing full well this alliance is all but dead, tries to throw his penny's worth as well for reasons only known to himself. Think it's safe to stick a fork in this particular alliance and move on with the finish line in sight.

By this point, Joey has finally decided to play the game. He pitches to Natalie, Tamar and Lolo to keep him in and then try to take Tom out of the game. Will it be too little too late, we'll have to wait and see in a little while as the eviction vote gets ever closer.

Oh boy, Lolo off on one again. Now she's screaming at Kato and Tom for their apparent misconduct after winning the last few games. This is stinking of Lolo being a sore loser to me, just because she hasn't won much yet. Tom tells us from the sanctuary of the Diary Room, this is only Big Brother and not the Olympics. Thank you Tom, the voice of reason there, just say it to her face now.

Eviction

Tom as HoH, and Kandi and Joey as the nominees are not allowed to vote

To cut a long story short, everyone who could vote voted to evict Joey and he left the house by a vote of 6-0

One of the better interviews in recent times, as Joey admitted he knew he was toast and proceeds to do an impression of Lolo. He also remarked that Lolo can go from 0 to 60 in a matter of seconds.

To be continued in Episode 9, and it's a 3 for one night as in HoH, Veto AND Eviction 4

Final thoughts

Natalie could have a good chance of winning, wonder if anyone is going to take the shot at her and Lolo to break them up as time is running out. Surprised Joey went, as that was definitely not the plan before. Wonder what was said that wasn't shown, only the cutting room floor will know and we won't unfortunately.

Celebrity Big Brother USA 2019 - Episode 7 - HoH and Nominations 3

When we last left the houseguests, Ryan left the premises by a vote of 6-1 and joined Jonathan on the jury, and the tension in there can be cut with a knife as alliances keep chopping and changing as we head into another HoH competition, and also in this episode we find out who gets the Power of the Publicist power as announced by Julie in the previous episode

This power runs for the next two nominations and Veto ceremony, and the person who gets the power can use it once and once only, if they find themselves on the block that is. If it is not used after the conditions above, then the power will expire and become void.

We pick up the action after Ryan's eviction, and Tamar is delighted. I don't know whether to feel sorry for them or not, as she is as mad as a box of frogs and doing anything to be noticed with the constant overacting.

Meanwhile the other mad person in the house namely Lolo, she is crying her eyes out for some bizarre reason. I say bizarre, because she was all for getting Ryan out so I am not sure where these tears are coming from. She should be doing cartwheels, not crying a river.

Joey, that person who says he didn't believe in alliances, admits he does indeed need an alliance and settles on Tamar, Dina and Kandi. Tamar though, in her own mad world, has a feeling it may not be the best idea as there is no way it would work due to physical competitions. However, Ricky the Rat goes to work again when Joey shares his feelings that the girls may be getting a tad over confident, and off goes the fink Ricky to report to HQ, the girls to you and me. Can't wait to see him get caught up in his own web, the fallout should be good to see.

HoH competition

The next HoH competition is based on 70's horror flicks, and is called Slaughter House. How it works, is as follows....

Basically the houseguests have to get through an elaborate creepy house set up, and find the hidden car keys to escape. All this in absolute darkness and several surprises, such as mad chainsaw people and other creepy surprises. As outgoing HoH, Kato is not eligible to play and also there are no penalties for finishing in last place. Houseguests will have 30 minutes each.

The houseguests will go through the challenge one at a time, and the fastest houseguest to find the keys and escape will be the new HoH

As expected, Tamar is going totally OTT with her reactions and doesn't even try before giving up. Not the best idea from this crazy lady in my opinion.

Finishing times:

Tom - 3:07
Kandi - 8:43
Lolo - 3:48
Ricky - 3:44
Tamar - DNF
Dina's - 14:24
Natalie - 9:07
Joey - 4:19

Winner and new HoH: TOM

Back to Ricky, who is definitely doing the every housemate for themself, agrees to join Tom, Lolo and Natalie in an alliance but says to us this is only a temporary fix until a better offer comes along. Meanwhile, Tom is speculating about who to put on the block and tells Finky Ricky and Kato, who try to put a block on that insisting it should be Tamar and Kandi. It's your choice, Tom, don't let those two influence you.

As Ricky leaves the room, Tom and Kato debate about whether Ricky can be trusted. Your first instinct is correct on this one, gentlemen, I wouldn't trust him to open a tin of sardines that weren't already half open.

Publicist Power

In the living room, the plasma comes to life and we see a newscaster telling about America voting for one of them to get this new power, but it's all very vague at this point. But all is about to become clear, as Big Brother summons them to the Diary Room one at a time to reveal whether or not they are the lucky houseguest.

Once we get to Tamar, it is revealed it is her and a reminder that she if she is nominated to the block whether it be nominations or Veto she can execute this power, and that the power will expire at the next live Veto meeting which is not too far off. This is where the paranoia sets in as most of them want to flush out who has the power, especially Tom.

His suspicions are totally wrong because he thinks it is either Joey or Kandi, and at the nominations ceremony he puts them on the block. We know the dingbat is wrong, but he doesn't know that and he may be sending an innocent person to the eviction gallows and in turn may put a huge target on himself.

To be continued in Episode 8, where we will have a Veto and the third evictee will be revealed, whoever is on the block after said Veto. Tamar still has time to use the power should she find herself on the block

Final thoughts

Boiling up nicely to a big explosion very soon I would say, as this house is getting really paranoid in terms of this power. The mad off continues between Lolo and Tamar, who will crack first...Tune in next time, same time, same place....
