Big Brother USA 2018 - Episode 33 - Nominations 11

As we saw in the last episode:

  • Scottie was evicted (5-0)
  • Kaycee was crowned as the new HoH
Probably going to be a short recap tonight, as there was so much filler to get through as some of the houseguests from seasons past made an appearance, and there is a surprise proposal chucked in as well....

So, full steam ahead with another step towards crowning this year's champion

Tonight....

We pick up the action straight after Kaycee's victory in the HoH competition, and naturally she is very happy with her success. Meanwhile Brett is frustrated, although he is confident he is safe for this week, although we know things could change in a heartbeat

Haleigh is in the pantry hugging her suitcase, and she says she knows she is going on the block, just a matter of who with. Meanwhile Sam is finding it tough playing on her own in there. Kaycee and Angela are discussing who to put on the block with Haleigh, and it does look like Sam is going to be the pawn to make sure Haleigh goes.

Who wants to see my HoH room

We see pics of Kaycee's family and lots of treats are laid out for her. She then reads a letter from her brother which sets her off and she breaks down in tears. Tyler says the real Kaycee is a teddy bear, and is the nicest person ever.

Next up, the 'showmance' between Tyler and Angela is shown, and they are discussing their favourite foods. Angela then tells us she has a weird sense of smell, and a short segment ensues where she is doing a 'smell test'.

Kaycee is trying to work out how to tell Sam she will be a pawn against Haleigh, politely I would think. Brett goes to Sam, and advises her to stay calm if she ends up being the pawn. Brett's motive is to make sure he currys favour if Sam wins HoH next week, and he's not on the block radar. Sam says she trusts Brett.

Sam and Kaycee are in the HoH room, and Kaycee tells her gently about going up as the pawn. Sam knows Haleigh is the main target, and advises that she is not as dumb as she looks. She's adorable that girl, don't think I've said that enough in this season.

This is it, the segment I've been dreading, as this got quite the mixed response on social media. Enter Nicole, season 18 winner, but little does she know what is about to happen as the current houseguests are looking on from the HoH room, so obviously they are locked in for now.

All of a sudden a fellow houseguest from Nicole's season called Victor appears on the screen where Julie usually appears, but on top of that he is actually in the house and surprises her with a little box with a ring with it, and I think you can guess the rest as in SHE. SAID. YES

And if that was not enough, in come season 18 and 19's runner up Paul, season 19's winner Josh, season 12 and 14's Britney, season 16 winner Derrick, and also Daniele Donato from season 8 and 13. Finally who is left from the current crop are let out of the HoH room to come down and celebrate with everyone else.

And now back to the current crop, JC is mucking about with a hula hoop, while Tyler and Angela are getting more acquainted as he asks for her life story, with soppy music playing in the background.

Up at the HoH room, Kaycee is totally engrossed in her music while Haleigh rings the doorbell a few times, and when they eventually talk Haleigh wants to get the answers she is looking for about being a target, I guess. Haleigh starts crying, as she is certain she is off to jury at eviction time.

Nominations ceremony

As expected, Kaycee nominates Haleigh and Sam. Kaycee says she doesn't have many options with the numbers dwindling.

Haleigh explains she is not going to roll over and try to win the Veto, while Sam is turning the air blue, and not for the first time.

To be continued in Episode 34, Power of Veto 11

Final thoughts

Only about 2 weeks left and still looking so comfortable for Level 6. Haleigh is a cert to go unless she can win the upcoming Veto, but given the numbers it's not looking very likely. Like I said, at the start a mixed episode judging by social media as some felt the ex houseguests going in kind of took away the spotlight from the current bunch. But I guess they had to do something to mark 20 seasons on air. Double eviction coming up this week as well, so even if Sam survives the first eviction, she or JC more than likely to go in the second of the night.

Very unlikely UK is going to get to 20 seasons in terms of civilian, but we can but hope another channel snaps it up. I mean a slim hope is better than no hope at all.
