Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 31 - Just simply, The Finale

 And then there were 3, as we head into the live finale

In case you missed it there will be NO crowd, and possibly a few housemates down as well, due to COVID outbreaks in that part of Australia where the show is based.

Ari the rat as expected fell into a rat trap and was booted, so the leaked final 3 was accurate of SJ, Marley and Christina. Essentially Marley's to lose as we head towards the end. On a personal note, must remember to show more restraint next year when it comes to final 3 indications.

Obviously no house action now they are all out of there and in the studio, so it will most likely be loads of filler, flashbacks, pleading their cases why they should win and reminiscing before we find out who will be the 2021 champion

So without further ado, let's get this party started....

Ma Kruger looking so chic as always as she explains the situation to Australia and indeed the world those watching in other ways.

Under starters orders, and it's the man of the season in Daniel out first. Should have been in first place this season, well him or Tilly. Nick and Melissa unfortunately can't be there due to said restrictions.

Katie, Mary, Carlos, Michael and Renata up next followed by Gabe, the twins, Brenton and Adriana

And now for the queen of the series in Tilly, looking absolutely wow. Shame she had to come in with the rat.

Anyways, now for the 3 who made it it to this point for a chance at the prize money....Marley, Christina and SJ

Marley looking dapper, Christina looking like the belle of the ball, while SJ looking like she has just landed back on Earth after some space exploration.

Tilly coming across as wonderful as she always does when people talk to her, I would highly recommend her post BB interviews whether it be on Sunrise Australia or on Tully's podcast. Will post the link to Tully's podcast at the end of proceeding with so much to get through in this final episode.

And speaking of fan favourites, heeeeeeeeeeeere's Daniel, and we get a montage of his stay in there. Rocky start I would say, as he was loathed but grew on everyone eventually. Played the game from start to finish, nothing wrong with that.

Showmance promotion with Christina, wasn't a fan of the show trying to force a showmance on her. Not sure how true the rumours of her having a secret fella on the outside are though, so unless she confirms it herself take it with a huge pinch of salt for now.

Anyways, and after a few flashback segments and some more chatting and a final ad break, it's time...... 

Drum roll please, maestro

And the winner of Big Brother Australia 2021 is.....MARLEY!!!!!

Genuinely pleased for the fella, did feel somewhat predictable given how he was pushed in the last few episodes but overall a good winner.

And so that's it for Australia 2021, hopefully next year if/when we will all be somewhat back to normality with the roaring crowds and atmosphere that has been very much missed.

Thank you Tilly and Daniel for all the entertainment, I have that feeling we haven't seen the last of Tilly.

Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 30 - The End of the Season is near

And so Daniel has bitten the dust and left the building, the biggest player got outplayed. The best housemate since Angela some say, and also up there with Tim Dormer.

We go into the last pre-recorded episode of this season with Marley, Christina, SJ and Ari still in with a chance, that leaked final 3, and there were several lists by the way, I only saw 1 but it does look like it's coming true.

Ari - A total rat only out for himself, but hey that's the name of the game I guess

SJ - Nothing against her personally, as she didn't have any say in those eviction saving twists but an 'incredible game'? I mean seriously, she has just floated through this season. Turning on the tears every time she was on the block and always pulling out the 'But I'm 65' card.

Marley - The clear favourite, just there. But has the story to back up him winning

Christina - Done nothing of note as she was bogged down with BB trying to pair her up with someone every so often. After Brenton left, she briefly stirred and won a few challenges but other than that, just there really.

Not so much of a fantastic four, but a flat final four....Nothing really excites me about them, with the entertainment of Daniel and Tilly gone

Anyways onto tonight, and one of the flat four is falling at the last hurdle, who goes THEY decide

A night of celebration, with a well done from the big man thrown in....

Christina feeling very confident her and Ari will be on the podium, while SJ is relaying how wonderful it is she is still there. 

Champagne breakfast ahoy while the big man revels in the silence and reminisces with Marley about his time in the house. That guy has got this won, just give him the cheque now.

Not much of note really, and finally the big man announces the final challenge of the season is imminent.....

Nominations challenge

One final pep talk from the big man before it gets underway

Move their respective sandbags to reveal a metal container, then dig a hole to get the container through the barrier in front of them and then build an arrow from the pieces in the container.

Then it's onto a maze, and guiding a ball through said maze. First to get the ball to the centre of the maze gets the final power of the season.

And MARLEY makes the podium!!!!!

For the last challenge winner, it's choosing one person to go....Marley will choose later in the eviction ceremony

And here comes Ma Kruger, looking so dam fine as usual. Oh boy she is absolutely rubbing it in that Ari didn't win the challenge. Other than that not much stirring today, but it has somewhat turned into the Marley Appreciation Society. Shall we just say congratulations in advance to him now?

And evicted to no shock is ARI. The first leaked final 3 was the correct one. 

Christina, Marley and SJ are this year's final three.....

Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 29 - 2 Challenges for the price of 1

 Revenge for Tilly is complete as Sid was shown the door in the last episode, and yet I still feel uneasy seeing who's left....

Ari, Marley, Christina, SJ and Daniel have made the final 5, as we head into the last Wednesday show for this season.

Does really feel like it is Marley's to lose now, he's a lock for the finale I would say. Just a question of who will join him there.

Today sees Second Chance Week come to a close, with one more episode to come before the big finale where Australia will decide this year's winner.

Predicting Daniel or Ari out today, and then the survivor leaves in the penultimate episode. 

Here we go then for the last Wednesday episode for the season....

And it's rise and shine to our final 5, Christina seems to be the biggest target today for various reasons around the house. In Ari's case "How dare she nominate me"

The big man then pipes in and congratulates the remaining inmates on making final 5, and then throws in another hand grenade in that there are 2 challenges today.

Winners of each challenge will put someone up on the block, just one person IIRC, who will then sit out the second challenge.

Rinse and repeat for the second challenge.

Those two on the block will then face the vote

Nominations challenge #1

Hang on for dear life for the first challenge, and that's about it really. Last housemate hanging on wins the first challenge.

And we have a winner, CHRISTINA earns the right to nominate one person who will sit out the next challenge

Christina is immediately summoned to the Diary Room and she nominates SJ. So SJ will sit out the 2nd challenge.

Daniel, Ari, Marley and Christina will be the 2nd challenge participants, and a reminder that Christina is NOT immune and in as much danger as the rest of them if she doesn't win this 2nd challenge

Nominations challenge #2

More balancing as they have to transfer 8 cylinders to a certain point through and over some obstacles, first housemate to do wins and gets to put another on the block alongside SJ

And our second winner is....ARI

Call me paranoid but I reckon this is going to be Daniel....

And yes it is Daniel, dam you Ari. Well at least you will be out on Monday though, prediction not spoiler on my part.

Daniel is spitting tacks, much like many before him he is not happy at being nominated. Ari absolutely scoffs at the Daniel handshake from the comfort of the Diary Room. If only he had picked the box with the gem in it.... True rat, but that's the game I suppose.

Eviction

Here we go then, can we just skip forward to the formality, Sonia. No disrespect but this very likely final 4 doesn't fill me with much fondness. Marley hints at possibly voting out SJ, but we will see. It is going down to Christina and Ari it would seem, although I wouldn't trust Ari to open a tin of sardines that weren't already open

And of course it's Daniel who is evicted, and not overly fond of this final four of Ari, Christina, Marley and SJ. It is what it is I guess....

Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 28 - Second Chance Week pt. 2

 And then there were 6 as we head into another episode and indeed part 2 of Second Chance Week

To cut a long story short, the premise is simply that whichever 3 housemates find themselves on the block after the nominations challenge, will play off in a second challenge and whoever wins the second challenge automatically takes themselves off the chopping block

Yesterday, and you may want to sit down because of the shock of this one, SJ, Christina, and Adriana faced off in such a challenge when Daniel put them on the chopping block. Staggeringly SJ won the challenge, I know something she actually earned, and saved herself.

Which meant to no shock afterwards, Adriana was sent packing.

Tonight sees a familiar challenge, and as Sonia said in the preview 'the biggest gameplay the show has ever seen'..... We shall see

Lots of talk about what the win will mean to them

And down to business already as the big man announces the nominations challenge will start shortly, and cue Daniel starting to plot and plant seeds. However there does seem to be dissension in the ranks as Christina is still sour about Daniel putting her on the block.

Me personally I think it's going to be Sid or Ari gone today, and then Daniel goes tomorrow

Nominations challenge

And that familiar challenge is the chicken wire challenge as in move balls along chicken wire using their fingers, and then get them in the various compartments for the next stage, and then for said next stage roll the ball down two bars and open the bars over 5 holes and drop them in said holes. 

First housemate to do this wins the nominations power

Very difficult challenge I would say, but......CHRISTINA makes it look relatively simple

She nominates Ari, Daniel and Sid... SJ, Marley and Christina the only lock ins for final 5 so far

Needless to say Ari is already going into 'how dare she nominate me' mode, oh boo hoo. Didn't you get the memo about what this show is called.

Oh dear, now Sid is going down that how dare you nominate me road, at least Daniel is sucking up his nomination and getting on with things.

Second Chance challenge

Endurance for the playoff challenge, as in balancing by holding ropes which are at different tension. 

Order of elimination: Sid and then Ari

Daniel is safe....Woohoo!!!!!!!

Ari or Sid for eviction then, somehow I've got it all right today so far in a chat room in regards to who went up initially and who would be up after the second challenge

Now for the big one, I reckon it will be Sid... Revenge for Tilly and all that. Ari can wait until tomorrow. Us Tilly fans demand revenge.

Meanwhile so much pitching to shake a stick at, at one point Daniel does not let Sid into the cave with him, SJ and Christina. Cue Sid getting paranoid.

SJ already confirmed to be the deciding vote, and yet again the tears are flowing from her. She's going to have no tears left at this rate, the way she had deployed them this season.

Still stand by what I say though, in that it will be it will be silly if she gets to the final 3. Yes I know Daniel has had loads of help as well, but SJ should have been gone twice over if not for major interference from them backstage.

On what planet is SJ the entertainment of the house, when she's just basically cruised through winning just one major challenge on the way.

Eviction

And here comes Ma Kruger with her usual grilling of the inmates....Oh and Ari really hamming it up with the waterworks all through this grilling. Look at that, not wanting to miss out SJ now turns on her usual waterworks.

And it's REVENGE FOR TILLY, as Sid is evicted 2-1

So another one down, and 5 remain as the finish line comes into sight with Second Chance Week coming to a close in Episode 29. Christina, Ari, Daniel, Marley and SJ.... Who goes next, they decide.

Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 27 - Second Chance Week pt.1

 The last few episodes before the finale is upon us, but Tilly won't be there to help see it through

In case you missed it, she went out in a game of chance in the last episode against Ari. Just a simple game of don't find the gem in the box. A game I may add left everyone on edge as in viewers, housemates and yes even Ma Kruger.

I know she's not dead, but the house will feel kind of dead without her unique energy and a new word from me in 'Tilly-isms'. Thank you Tilly, one of the best housemates this season, and also in this format and era of the show. You will be missed.

Back to the present, and of course another big twist this week as we go into Second Chance Week, where it's every houseguest for themselves, where I would guess that Sid is the main target after Tilly tipped off Ari to gun for him.

As for the premise of Second Chance Week, which I'll describe now rather than during the show, there will be a challenge every day, but whoever finds themselves on the block will have a chance to save themselves in another challenge, just the three of them, and whoever wins that challenge will be safe from the chopping block.

Hopefully that's clear enough.....

And now we move into the post Tilly era of this house, let's see how much energy they can muster up...

Ari is still on Cloud 9 after he managed to stay in over Tilly, but his fellow housemates are a bit upset. Adriana, however, seems confident Ari will have her back. 

Everyone seems to be vying for Ari's services, but we will see as the episode goes on

Endurance all the way today, as the remaining 7 will have to stand between two big blocks and keep them apart. The blocks are calibrated to 40% of their body weight.

Hoping it's going to be SJ, Sid and Ari...Sort of Revenge for Tilly and all that.

Back on planet Earth, Daniel nominates Adriana, Christina and SJ.... Looks like bye bye Adriana then, as Christina will probably win the Second Chance Challenge

Soppy music as we head into an Adriana segment, of the two older women in there I really hope it's her staying today but it's not looking very realistic. If she goes I will miss her dynamic with Daniel, if she wasn't a married woman I reckon Daniel and her could have got together.

Pretty much the same for Christina and SJ, although I don't think Christina has much to worry about today.

Second Chance Challenge

Simple premise, build their wall to make the words SAFE FROM EVICTION and then knock it down. 

First to knock their wall down completely, will do as the wall says and be off the chopping block

And would you believe it, SJ actually earns safety for once, as she is very quick in building her wall and then knocking it down.

Christina v Adriana for eviction, coming right up..... Let the pitching (and crying) commence, and already hard at it it would seem as we come back from the commercials

But as stated earlier, it just seems Adriana is done already so the pitching does seem a bit sort of futile.

Eviction

Sonia looking as chic as ever, as she starts with her usual probing before someone else's fate is sealed. Sorry to sound like a broken record, but this one does feel like an anticlimax

Slightly different reveal from Sonia today, as she reveals ADRIANA got all the votes and is evicted. 

Not really fussed and no big loss. If she had been in there from the start, maybe her chances could have been better.

Anyway, a familiar challenge from North America rears it head tomorrow. More on that in tomorrow's summary of course, spoilers and all that for those who don't want to know until it actually airs in all it's glory.

Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 26 - Gem or No Gem

 A day to remember or forget is upon us, depending on whether you are a Tilly or Ari supporter,

One of them definitely going home today with Mirror Week coming to a close and the finish line fast approaching, June 29th to be precise for finale night

In case you missed it:

Adriana won the nominations challenge, after SJ used her replay power to replay the comp

Adriana and Daniel had a major falling out in regards to the nominations

Ari was sent to the Mirror Room, little knowing Tilly was still on the premises

Nothing against Ari of course, but I do hope Tilly will go back in and give us a few last days of entertainment before curtain down on this series.

In the main house, thoughts are with Ari's eviction and Daniel showing little remorse over Ari's eviction. 

Adriana is still piping hot with Daniel, very hurt that Daniel betrayed her trust and is nearly in tears while Daniel is trying to explain himself. This goes on for quite a while, hopefully she will come around, then again she may not.

All the while SJ is still floating through, saying nothing of much sense. Secretly enjoying it no doubt given the easy ride she has had through this season.

Sweet, Daniel and Adriana have made up, after all it's only a game as some are so keen to point out

10 minutes to today's challenge, announces the big man. Makes sense given how much we have to get through in this episode

$10,000 challenge

They each have to carry a sandbag at a time over 3 cargo nets and then once that is done, empty the bags and get the balls into the respective holes by bouncing them off their respective trampolines into the hole. The one who gets all the balls in the holes will not get nomination power, but a cash prize of $10,000

After much grunting and groaning, Marley is miles ahead and eventually wins gaining $10,000

After the challenge, the big man announces he will be putting on a spread for them, and also teases that he has got some people from the outside to say hello. Hmmmmm wonder who they could be, we know but they obviously think more messages from home.

Can't wait to see Sid's face when Tilly pops up on the screen....

I don't mean to be rude, but I do hope everyone gets a chance to plead their case to win as that little segment about what the money will do for Marley felt like a 'Marley to win' pitch

And now for a last supper for the so called final six, and also video visits from the former housemates.... Katie still bitter, has anyone told her it's only a game. She got eliminated fair and square.

Oh wait, two missing from the montage and THERE. THEY. ARE. direct from the mirror room

Here comes Sonia as well, looking as chic as ever, and instead of the usual stirring she explains about what will happen next, and a panel moves out with 36 boxes and it's Russian roulette as the first one to find the box with the red gem leaves for good while the other goes back in the house.

Can't really call it as there is no advantage for either Tilly or Ari, just pure chance

Everyone's heart is going like a moped as the box opening continues and...... Oh no, Tilly finds the box with the gem in it!!!!!!

The lovely Tilly is done in the game for real, and it's another sad exit. But hey at least she can leave with her head high with the comps win record, and in my eyes the title of people's champion....

And now the end is near, 7 left as the live finale gets ever closer. 3 or 4 more will fall at the final hurdle

Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 25 - Mirrors, Mirrors on the walls

 Greeting fellow BB fans, as we take a step closer to the end of Big Brother Australia

And an interesting week so far, with Sid finally winning a challenge and thinking he has made a major move in getting Tilly out. How little he knows, and I'm hoping personally that these particular walls have ears.

Hell hath no fury like Till scorned, and I hope if she does get back in she makes them suffer. Come on big man, don't make it too difficult for Tilly to get back in. Some of these remaining floaters have got to go, and yes I'm looking at you, SJ

Let's see the aftermath, and if Daniel will go after Sid, oh and Marley has used his power already.....

Hoping Tilly doesn't pick up that red gem in the middle of the room, which she has been instructed that if she picks it up at any time she is automatically out the door.

Daniel is vowing revenge on Sid for eliminating Tilly, while Marley is missing Tilly. I can't wait to see his face if she gets back in. Those rabbits won in the task yesterday are oh so adorable. You know, I love petting animals, keeps me de-stressed when my autism is running a bit rife and am anxious. These days I can't wait for Sundays to come round, so I can go and see Lennie. He's so much better with me now, less growling as I walk through the door and more wagging his tail as he knows when I pitch up he gets a treat.

Sid is feeling very smug about getting rid of Tilly, don't get too comfortable pal. You've only won one challenge, and your face will be a picture if she comes back in.

Back in the Mirror room, Tilly makes a figure from the pillow called Sally. The big man is wondering who Tilly is talking to. I like this segment. No I really do.

House task

Memory task today..... Ari is bragging about having a photographic memory

The big man announces he has placed 13 items in the garden, and they have a limited time to memorise every detail. They will then be called into the Diary Room at random moments, and be questioned about said items. If they get a question wrong, they will be eliminated. Last housemate standing will get a game changing advantage

Order of elimination:

Marley

Daniel

Adriana

Ari

Christina

Sid

SJ earns a game advantage, as in a replay in which if she doesn't win or the result is not good for her then everyone starts again. Think that's the jist of it. This will be corrected if it's messed up

Don't touch that gem, Tilly!!!! You know the consequences. The big man really is going hell for leather to get her to pick up that gem.

Nominations challenge

Another stacking game, where they have to balance on a beam and stack 25 blocks on said beam. The first to do this and create a domino effect wins the power.

And there's still SJ's advantage, so this could go quite a while.

Christina is way out in front and wins, oh I wonder what is going to happen here. And there it is, SJ activates her replay power. They go again...

And this time it's Adriana winning her first challenge, go Adriana!!!!!! :)

And she nominates SJ, Ari and Marley.....

SJ turning on the tears again during the pitches, no surprise there. How do they keep falling for this?

Eviction to the Mirror Room

Think you know the drill with Sonia throwing some small hand grenades in there by now. Marley's all but certain to be going nowhere, so it's down to SJ and Ari.

As always the challenge winner doesn't get to vote, so Adriana sits this one out

Ari going to the Mirror Room, and to say Adriana is pissed would be a bit of an understatement. Bet her kids are screaming at the TV for the housemates to run for cover right now. 

Revenge the word for the next episode, will Tilly and/or Ari return to the house. That gem still playing on Tilly's mind and now also Ari's. Will Adriana have her revenge on Daniel, as their friendship is strained to the limit. All this and more as Mirror Week draws to a close in Episode 26, and we get ever closer to crowning the 2021 winner.

Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 24 - Mirror Week begins

 Another week and yet another twist in this never ending series, and apparently sometime this week a 'big move' is going to be made.

When we last left things Down Under, the right eviction happened when New Charlotte, who didn't even want to be there anyway left the house, no biggie really as she was just in the background most of the time anyway. Marley also gained a special power that runs over the next 2 evictions as in the Immunity Eye

Lots of tears within this week's preview, not from me but Tilly looked distraught. Makes me kind of worried she's going to be the victim of this so called big move, and her time in the house comes to an end. 

I can see she's somewhat of a popular housemate on social media, let's hope the BB gods give her a little more time in there, who knows maybe a final 3 spot. Anything is better than seeing SJ sitting there on finale night, knowing she's had two free passes already and a relatively easy ride. Seriously she's had more lives than a cat in this series due to constant interference, time for her to go. Just in my opinion, she does absolutely nothing except turn on the tears when nominated.

Anyway on with this week's festivities, and virtual fingers crossed that lovely Tilly is still there by curtain down this week.

All talk as we start is about said Immunity Eye, which Marley has in his possession

A short while later, the big man summons the remaining housemates to the living area. He announces he is opening a shop, and the housemates will have to trade something with him to get the various items on offer.

Coffee machine with all the trimmings is the first item on offer, the catch being Sid has to hand over his chocolate.

Second item on offer is 2 rabbits, which sends Tilly into a tizz and she shoots off to the Diary Room. The catch being Danny has to hand back the coffee machine, which he does

The attic returns, two housemates can have an overnight stay in there with a bottle of Prosecco thrown in. Sid straight out of the traps and he has picked SJ, who has already had the privilege of the attic.

I like the pairing of Daniel and Adriana, I wonder if she wasn't married if they would have got together. Imagine that, a showmance involving the more elder members of the house.

Talk from SJ and Sid about taking out Tilly, bad feeling meter has gone up a few notches. The official page now calling this a big move, she's really gone isn't she :(

At least Tilly is doing stuff in there, Sid, unlike you and your attic room-mate who has had more lives than a cat due to interference. She should have been gone weeks ago, not hanging in there like a bad smell.

One hour until nominations challenge, announces the big man

Another balancing/dizziness type challenge consisting of two heats of four, housemates will be spun around on their respective swings and will have to compete various challenges

Tilly, Sid, Adriana and Christina in the first heat, which Christina and Sid 

Daniel, Marley, Ari and SJ in the second heat, which Marley and Ari advance

Semi final up next, and it's Christina, Sid, Marley and Ari, which Sid and Marley

Worry increasing for Tilly's house future right now!!!!!

Worst possible luck, Sid gets his first win and think this is curtains for Tilly. Tilly's exit gets closer as she finds herself on the block alongside Marley and Daniel. Two housemates who have brought most of the entertainment in trouble here.

Sid's definitely not winning if he gets to final 3, the public will remember this big time. 

Looking very grim for Tilly now, as her name keeps popping up, but Danny is looking like falling on his sword. Could Tilly yet be saved, slim chance is better than none at all. If Sonia reveals the Mirror Room here.....

Eviction room

Sonia with her usual stirring. The situation though is getting a bit too much for Tilly, and she has a little tearful episode. Genuine tears I may add, not the sort SJ uses to get her way when it comes to eviction ceremonies. Daniel still intent on throwing himself on his own sword, to keep the lovely young Tilly in.

Here we go, it's time....I am genuinely nervous here, and secretly hoping the Mirror Room is pulled out of the bag. We CANNOT lose an entertaining housemate to these people who have floated through most of the season

As always the challenge winner is not allowed to vote

To cut a long story short, Marley used his power and rendered his nominations null and void, and Tilly is 'evicted' however the big man stops her in her tracks and sends her into the Mirror Room. If she can survive the Mirror Room, she gets to go back in.

Feeling a little more hopeful now, someone who will actually benefit from a twist at last, and I do hope she gets back in. Hell hath no fury and all that......

That being said, the curtain comes down on this episode and this season is to be continued with Episode 25.

Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 23 - Let's twist again

 Another week comes to an end Down Under, and as the title suggests another twist coming into play today it would seem. Tilly is heard saying.

Another 'game advantage', as if two of them don't have enough advantages already this season..... Don't get me wrong, at least one is entertaining (Daniel) but the other (SJ) should have been sent packing weeks ago.

Anyways, in case people missed it....New Charlotte was evicted, I know no great loss as she didn't even want to be there in the first place, while there was an unexpected road trip which of course went nowhere.

Another fine day in the Big Brother house, as we head towards this brand new twist and it's back to normal business with Daniel and SJ back in the house, and it's down to the final 8.

Marley is feeling the sting of New Charlotte getting blindsided, and Daniel not following through on certain promises. It's one of those moments again, and I know we shouldn't laugh at people crying, but Daniel wells up at the thought of being in final 8 and goes into that high pitched voice when he cries.

Tilly wants to work with Daniel and Marley.... and makes it her mission to get them united. Oh boy, I adore this girl, but why do I get the feeling this is not going to work. She starts to work her magic on both of them, only time will tell if it has worked

Ari is summoned to the diary room, and is given a secret mission. The reward is phone calls home for everyone. He will be given various topics by the big man to talk with them about.

Daniel - Auctioneering skills

Tilly is now summoned, and is told about the secret mission which is now revealed as the not so true secret mission. She instead has the secret mission, to avoid him about the subject he will be given to talk to her about as in chihuahuas.

Sofa gatherage, and it's revealed that Tilly passed her secret mission, and after much teasing Ari's mission is deemed irrelevant. Phone calls all round for everyone, and we get to hear Daniel's high pitched crying.

Christina - Mum

Adriana - Husband

Ari - Sister

SJ - Husband

And may I just say it's nice to see some of the others now they are not drowned out by some of the other, shall we say, loud ones. Now we are seeing Sid plotting away.... yes that Sid.

But in the dark corners of the house, further plotting from Daniel, when he tells Christina he wants Sid gone. He then rounds up Marley to further his plan, but then Marley finds out from Christina that Sid is planning to put Marley on the chopping block down the line. But what's this, Daniel and Marley are forming a secret alliance. Daniel says not to make it too obvious.

Nominations challenge incoming, announces the big man

Skipping the formalities, as everyone will know it will be a physical. The big man announces that tonight will nobody will be going home. Whoever wins the challenge automatically goes forward to competing for a massive game advantage. They then have to pick two others to compete against, and the housemates then have to pick from those three.

As long as it's not a pass to the finale.... As that worked so well in the UK version, I think not.

Would you believe it, Daniel wins the challenge and at least he earned it this time instead of it being handed to him....

The power is that any votes cast against the power holder will not count, when the power is activated by the power holder. Only valid for the next 2 evictions and can only be used before votes are revealed. 

Think that's the jist of it anyway.

And straight away, SJ is saying she wants to get to the final 3 on her own merit. Seriously? She should have been gone twice over already if not for backstage sticking their oar in TWICE to keep her in there. If she gets to the final 3, well sorry that's just a farce.

Power decision

Fast forwarding through the usual Sonia conversations, in other words cutting a long story short....

Daniel, SJ and Marley will not be allowed to vote, and in this particular instance it's going to come down to Ari for the deciding vote, given how conflicted he appeared to be.

SJ - 2 votes

Daniel - No votes

Marley - 3 votes

Marley gets the power and will be able to null the nominations cast for him should he find himself on the block for the next two eviction

And so concludes another week, and finally someone not called SJ or Daniel will have an advantage.

The endgame begins next week, and the finish line is in sight....A brief glimpse of what looks like a diamond room, looks interesting I may say

Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 22 - Road trip to nowhere

Another fine few days in the Big Brother house are upon us, with the end getting ever closer....or however much longer Big Brother continues to stretch things out with these constant twists and turns

Today's festivities see Daniel and perennially saved SJ continue their reign of terror over the house with more amusing (well in their minds) pranks, while the big man throws in more twists and of course another one gets their marching orders.

In other house matters in case anyone missed it yesterday the vital moments of the show, Marley won the nominations challenge, and then Ari, Christina and Mary were put one the block.

Mary assumed she was safe, and didn't take it too well when she was evicted......

Daniel is feeling very smug and says Marley made a fatal mistake and he wants to show his good faith by chopping one of his team..... Christina's name is cropping up a lot by the way.

Sunrise on a new day, and of course SJ and Daniel are told a nice little treat is waiting for them in a breakfast hamper, but have to get a housemate to cook it for them. Feeling a little nervous as they pick Tilly, and they guide her on how to make breakfast. You know that bad feeling, well I'm getting that now. This could be Tilly's last day.

51 days for SJ, of course you are enjoying it seeing how much help you have had staying in there. Look if this had just been Daniel, and SJ had been sent on her way as she was meant to be, without any more interference I wouldn't have such a big issue.

Road trip to nowhere, announces the big man. A nice little mini pops up on the screen and he announces that all 7 of them have to fit in there and then endure many twists within a specific time limit. Fail and there will be a punishment. Of course SJ and Daniel don't have to play.

A short while later after some bumps and familiar music being played, they 'reach their destination'. If you're happy and you know it, and all that, nudge nudge wink wink

Punishment avoided, let's see what the reward is in due course.

KFC now being offered as a bribe to two housemates of SJ and Daniel's choosing. They settle on Ari and Marley. Meanwhile, Daniel and SJ are told their HoH will be ending soon, but they will not face the block, AND get this, as one final play they will be allowed one nomination no matter who wins the nominations challenge

No introduction needed for yet another physical challenge..... I hope when this Covid crisis abates, we can see more mental challenges from next year's series onwards.

Everyone is now told about the SJ and Daniel can put one person on the block, and stunned faces all round. The jist of this one is to keep their seesaw in the air, that is the side that their face without the cross on it. It's time to rumble and every housemate for themselves as they fill up opposing housemates boxes with sand.

Tilly picks up another challenge win, and in case you missed it, she only gets to nominate 2 with SJ and Daniel putting up the other one.

She nominates Adriana and Christina, while Daniel and SJ put up New Charlotte. Guess that's goodbye to Adriana or more likely New Charlotte

Eviction

No biggie if New Charlotte goes, added very little and she didn't want to be there in the first place. A few distractions today as in the internet being broken, and the stream for today's episode freezing at a rate of knots. So we'll just fast forward to the voting.

As expected, no great loss as New Charlotte is evicted in one of the biggest non surprises ever seen....

Episode 23, here we come and looking at the preview another 'massive' twist.... Can't this game just be allowed to ebb and flow for a little while.... Please?

Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 21 - The true week of Hell begins

 Another fresh week is go in the house....Unfortunately it seems doing not much gets you lots of rewards including staying in the house.

Are we supposed to believe that if that had been Marley or Mary that got most votes, this executive room would still have been rolled out. But as we have seen, SJ who has done NOTHING but hoard food and cry at the drop of the hat when she's nominated, gets rewarded with an extended stay when she has won no challenges and just basically sits there blending into the wallpaper

Why is anybody's guess really. What has she got on them that she stays much longer than she should be. If she gets to final 3, can you imagine the uproar.

I do feel for the others still in there who haven't had the benefits SJ has had, I mean why is SJ getting a free pass. Not that bullshit about her age, she knew what she signing up for. Stop pandering to her, it's every housemate for themselves in this format.

Right, piece said and on to this week's festivities

Oh, and now SHE and Danny can be Big Brother as well....She immediately orders them all into the pool. Oh boy this truly is going to be a loooooong week.

All about revenge with HER, almost as if they are gently guiding her to final 3. When she's back in there, they won't dare nominate her again at this rate with her protector lurking.

Lovely Tilly is summoned to the Diary Room, and the two in charge tell her to take the chips and Tim Tams from SJ's bed and put them in Ari's bed. I assume this is going to be to stir the pot and make them think it was Ari. Sure enough it is.....

16 days left....

Sofa gatherage, and they are told they will each have an individual task set for them in the Diary Room. If they each pass their tasks, they will get a VIP ticket to a cocktail party

Passed - Adriana, Tilly and Marley

Ari is chosen as party security......

Everyone else failed, less said the better.

Daniel is hoping he can get Marley onside with the incoming party, good luck with that. Is where the oft 'ultimate betrayal' preview is leading where Marley rids the house of the most entertaining . Well, Marley is suspicious Daniel may dangle a carrot, let's see if he acts on any of Daniel's pitches.

Nominations challenge in 1 hour, announces the big man

Marley is still mulling about putting up some from Ari, Christina, Mary and New Charlotte should he win the nominations challenges.

SJ and Daniel are not allowed to play, and also they cannot be nominated. But they can vote in the eviction. 

Another facsimile for today's challenge, as in steer balls down a ramp and get them into 5 holes at the bottom. That's it, that's the challenge. First housemate to get 5 balls, gets the nomination power.

Looks like everyone else has actually stopped or just about stopped competeing to see if Ari or Marley will win this challenge, and a short while later MARLEY wins the challenge. Now to see who he actually puts on the chopping block, after all his umming and ahhing from earlier.

And he opts for:

Ari

Mary

Christina

So that's farewell to Ari or Mary I would assume. Mary, like SJ, has done nothing except take up background space. Ari, amusing as he is with his overacting. While Christina is emerging from her Showmance shackles, and making a name. Surely it should be Christina's name that should be considered.....

Meanwhile, Mary the latest housemate to fall foul of 'how dare you nominate me'. Surely some of these people know what show they are on, right?

Eviction

Twist of fate says SJ, more like interference for god knows what reason. Here she goes again, there is a reason you keep getting nominated. Think about it.

Mary seems very certain she is staying, apparently she's the safe vote.... We'll soon see about that

Reminder, Marley is not allowed to vote due to winning the challenge, yet Daniel and SJ are allowed. I don't get that, when Ari had that tech fail in one challenge he was not allowed to vote in the eviction yet this week SJ and Daniel are? What's up with that?

Christina - 4 votes

Well, well, well. Who didn't see that coming. Oh yeah everybody. Safe to say Mary didn't take her eviction very well. It's only a game, what part of that do some of them not understand.

Only two more episodes of this twist left.... Thank god.

Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 20 - That Sinking Feeling

 Greetings citizens, as we head towards the end of Hell Week, and the house is a Jess lighter when she was shown the door

In case you missed it, Daniel (who else) was given a key to enable him to save himself or one of whoever was on the chopping block. Lot of people screaming fix, but it was just chance that he was the sole one left who hadn't gone into the Panic Room.

No way in hell (no pun intended) was he going to save Jess, and he ended up sending Ari into the bowels of the house until after the eviction.

Any chance of SJ and/or Mary going today? Or will Marley get some sort of revenge for Jess.... Let us all find out

Dawn of a new episode is upon us, and 120 hours into Hell Week. But Christina is not letting this affect her, acting like she's won the whole thing because she won one competition.

Jess was 'one of the greatest players' apparently, I know Sonia doesn't write this stuff but jeez.....

Sofa gatherage as Hell Week commences for the final time this week, and we are onto the shopping task

Shopping task

The premise this week, one housemate will be strapped onto the wheel and will be spun around for a time decided by the big man. If they survive their time on the wheel, $10 will be added to the shopping budget, however if they don't get to the wheel in time or they depart the wheel before the time is up then a fail will be recorded

Tilly - 10 mins

Tillyism (while dizzy in the Diary Room) - "The room is blue"

Sid - 17 minutes

Marley and Daniel are next up, but Daniel didn't make it in time. So that's a fail for the group

Diary Room gatherage, and there seems to be a mass break out of there when the door opens as they think the task siren is going off but it's to let someone else in.

Mary - 15 minutes 

Tilly fails on her second attempt, and so does Marley on his third

Christina incurs another fail....

Marley finally gets another success

Daniel - Another failure

Dawn of the new day, and it's all hands to the pump already with the task siren sounding and it's onto Tilly's third attempt and it's a simple 10 minutes.

And there we have it, task over and it's a grand total of $180 towards the shopping

No need to say what kind of challenge it is, as you might have already guessed

Pairs challenge, and it's basically one will go in a respective tank and the other will have to get the ever flowing water in the tank to a drum 20 metres away.

Tilly and New Charlotte (4th out)

Christina gets another win, the nomances were only holding her back. Bouncing around again, as she and Ari celebrate. Off they go to the Diary Room to nominate....

Not getting my hopes up about SJ going, as she will pull the emotional card again as in 'keep me in I want to be the oldest winner'.

In the preview there was a mention of yet another twist (yawn) so I wouldn't be at all shocked if this saved Marley, and got rid of Mary.

Eviction

Should be noted that Mary didn't clap for Christina's win, make of that what you will. Another observation is where has this fiery Christina been hiding all season. Meanwhile, SJ off on one again. At least Daniel's playing, SJ, darn sight more than what you are doing.

Voting time, and Ari and Christina are not allowed to vote due to winning the challenge

However, Sonia announces whoever gets the most votes will be Head of Household, and look at that. SJ in trouble and guess who the new HoH is

And now she can pick someone to join her in the 'executive suite' and look at that, she picks DANIEL

So, Hell Week concludes and for a second time, SJ is saved from leaving through a twist. 

That's the way the ice cube crumbles, but there's only so much people will take. She should have been gone weeks ago, if not for the attic. She's constantly on the block for a reason, please just let her go.

Anyway, that's the end of another week and the finish line gets a step closer

Episode 21 up next and the start of a week of SJ and Daniel running the house. Don't get me wrong, Daniel is good, but please can some of the others who are not called SJ or Daniel have some of these benefits. Give them all a fighting chance.

Big Brother Australia 2021 - Episode 19 - Keys to Hell

Dawn of a new day in the Big Brother Australia, and no birds sing especially Christina after she lost her showmance in the last episode.

Instead that all too familiar air raid siren, which I must say must be used more often outside of Hell week, and the dulcet tones of the big man ring through the bedroom telling, or shall we say ordering them to take their bedding and pile it up in the garden and be quick about it. They then find out they will be sleeping outside until further notice.

And yes Ari is being a drama queen..... No shocks there

Christina says she is feeling a little uncomfortable with Brenton not being there. She may see him on the outside she says, although in what capacity given the rumours on social media about her having a secret fella.

Sofa gatherage incoming, 3 days into Hell Week announces the big man. Da da daaaaa, here comes the Panic Room again.

Rules: 2 housemates will enter at a time and it's simply stay in there until the big man says they can leave. 2 housemates will then be chosen to go in the Panic Room every hour, and as there are 11 the last one will go in solo. If anyone leaves the Panic Room at any time, everyone will be punished. 

Psychedelic colours all round as Jess and Marley are the first two in, and before too long 'If you're happy and you know it' starts playing. The big man announces this song will be playing for the duration of the six hours. Why can't Big Brother be like this most of the time

Order of entry:

SJ and Ari

New Charlotte and Tilly

Sid and Mary

Adriana and Christina

Lucky last Daniel, meanwhile, is sent to the Diary Room where he is given a trove of treats and a key to that secret room in the cave room which we have seen a few times in previous episodes. Daniel is told he can save himself or one of whoever faces the vote with the key. So basically a Veto key. He now has to stash away his treats while back in the Panic Room, the song plays merrily away.

Cutting it close would be an understatement, as the big man lets the rest of them out of the Panic Room while he still stashes away his rations. Still munching away on his chocolate as they emerge, and some of them start wondering and then chase him around the house, Benny Hill style.

Meanwhile, the clouds are gathering over the house weather wise and it eventually starts to rain very heavily. Ari moaning again, being a right drama queen. He does know what show he's on doesn't he, the big man is NOT going to budge on this.

Morning has broken, and slightly better weather has come with it....

Jess still pretty confident she's safe, and tries to talk Christina over to her side. However, it looks like Christina is not buying what Jess is selling.

10 minutes to the nomination challenge, announces the big man.

Oh look another physical/endurance....Think you get the picture by now, as in hang on for dear life and last one standing wins the power to nominate. They are not allowed to move hands or feet from their designated spots, or it means instant elimination

Winner - CHRISTINA

She is immediately summoned to the Diary Room to make her nominations, and she opts for Jess, SJ and Ari for the chopping block

Oh boy, Jess is spitting tacks, and Marley doesn't look too thrilled either. Does Jess understand the concept of this format, three have to go up and she was one of them. What part of that does she not understand?

But wait, Daniel is seriously considering using his Veto key to save Ari, as there is a danger he could be sent on his way tonight as in the front door.

Luckily Daniel has a better way of making Ari disappear, and he pitches the idea of the key to him.  Sure enough the key is deployed and Ari makes his way into the bowels of the house at least until after the eviction. Looks like Jess's fate is secured, and there's the major player the previews were plugging

Personally I thought it would be Daniel himself or adorable Tilly going, yes there's always tomorrow as well, but for now I thought one of those two would be toast tonight.

Eviction

And there's Ma Kruger, looking wow as usual

She carries on as normal with no Ari in his seat, but then reveals with some relish about Daniel's twist. The man of the moment has a grin like a Cheshire Cat, as they all stare daggers at him.

Not a smile to be seen apart from Daniel as the shockwaves reverberate around the room....

Jess is close to tears, obviously she knows she is probably toast and just goes into a general pitch. SJ now brings out the tears, with her usual emotional blackmail speech. As always said, win some comps then. She is so pointless along with Mary, apart from the attic those two have done nothing but floated through.

Not voting tonight:

Ari - Gone into hiding for tonight

Christina - Won the challenge

Jess and SJ as well as their votes will cancel each other out

Another scalp, albeit indirectly, for Daniel as he takes out Katie's second in command

To say Marley is fuming would be a bit of an understatement, I do wonder if he will have his revenge as Hell Week comes to a close in episode 20....
