Big Brother UK 2018 - Episode 17 - Always look on the bright side of life

Into another episode we go, and it's Veto Day or Gamechanger as it's known over here

In case you missed it, Kay has departed from the house and facing the public vote pre-Veto and playing in the Veto comp will be Isaac, Akeem, Brooke and Kenaley. Cian will also be participating as being top of the cash leaderboard, along with Cameron who will be Kay's replacement in the Veto comp

And it's straight down to business as Big Brother wakes them up and tells them to get dressed as the Veto will be starting almost immediately

Veto competition

This competition looks familiar, oh yes it is...The premise is the same as one of the competitions in Big Brother Canada this year. To cut a long story short, the housemates had to remember some details of their party from the previous night, to which Big Brother will ask them questions about shortly. They can only answer True or False, by going up a step for the True step and down for the False step.

If a housemate gets a question wrong, they are eliminated. Correct answer and they are still in, and also Tomasz has to use his Extra Life power in this competition.

Last housemate standing wins the Veto and can either save themselves or someone else on the block.

As Kay has left the house, Cameron has been chosen by Cian to be her replacement in this competition.

Off we go....

Order of eliminations:

ROUND 1 - Akeem and Brooke
ROUND 2 - Cameron and Cian

Tomasz uses the Extra Life on Isaac, so Isaac stays in the game for a little while longer and it's between him and Kenaley for who will win the Veto

ROUND 3 - Both incorrect so no elimination
ROUND 4 - Isaac

Winner and holder of this week's Veto is KENALEY

Have that, Tomasz, complete waste of the Extra Life power. His face is an absolute picture.

Kenaley uses the Veto on herself, so it will be ISAAC, AKEEM and BROOKE

Back to house action

Isaac asks Cameron who he would have saved, to which Cameron replies Brooke and Isaac. Akeem doesn't seem too fazed by this, for now anyway. But then again Cameron doesn't like Akeem anyway.

Brooke admits she is scared of being on the block, you are only on the block. You haven't been shortlisted to go in front of a firing squad. She's probably going nowhere as Isaac seems to be the target this week.

Interesting that Cameron wasn't given the extra life from Tomasz, while Kenaley admits she was going to use the Veto on herself anyway. Cian talks about Tomasz's gameplay, isn't that the whole point of this series. Although I do agree with some of them Tomasz may peak too early and end up having an early bath, as in getting evicted very soon.

Who's this Sian people keep talking about, and when did she go in

Zoe talking about this Sian person in the Diary Room, WHO IS SHE? Charades now being played in the garden, but aren't you supposed to keep quiet to play charades. What do we call this, speaking charades? Answers on a postcard please

Cian advises Tomasz about Tomasz's gameplaying. Tomasz seems unfazed by this, none of it will sink in obviously as he does not care who he treads on to get to the end. Remember it IS a game this year, not the few weeks free holiday it has been on Five where it's been a cake walk for Celebs and Civilians alike in the last few years.

The rarely spotted Sian yet again....

Akeem is the lucky recipient of this years Big Brother head shave, while Kay discussion continues courtesy of Lewis. Meanwhile Cameron and Lewis are getting paranoid she may go to the papers to talk about them. Guys, the papers barely give a crap about the Civilian series these days unless something controversial happens. Out of nowhere things get heated between Cian and Lewis, which results in Cian storming out to the garden saying 'Lewis could give a painkiller a headache' amongst other things.

Next up, Brooke is feeling a little down as she ponders what she has done wrong with her fellow housemates to be on the block. Little does she know, it was actually the viewers who DIDN'T name her one of their favourites in the last poll to determine favourite and least favourite housemates. Big Brother doing very well to keep it a secret as it's meant to be.

Time for another bout of Lewis against Cian, and yes it does get heated yet again. Lewis would seem to have found his next 'victim'....Not accusing him of bullying, but he does seem to single one person out every week, I think it would be more like don't feed the Lewis troll.

Cameron getting himself involved now which causes Cian to lose his cool, Lewis and Cameron just two rain clouds of doom. Don't give them a reaction, just a shame the rest of them haven't got an ignore button so they can just enjoy themselves.

Cameron is feeling down apparently, and immediately goes outside to start whining. Just share a few jokes, as Cesar Romero's Joker said in the 1966 Batman move 'A joke a day keeps the gloom away'

Someone call security, that Sian intruder has found her way into the Diary Room.

Time for another Lewis Diary Room monologue, and he comes up with a Harry Potter reference about Tomasz. Not a big Harry Potter fan myself, please don't swing out at me Harry Potter fans.

Cameron now talking to Tomasz about Tomasz's gameplan, and warns him about overplaying. Tomasz of course is not listening, and why should he.

Discussion between Brooke, Cian and Kenaley about Lewis. You can see the divides and various camps forming now. Sure wish I was in there so I could play as well.

Lewis is venting yet again, saying he hates snakes and weaseley two faced people. Takes one to know one, pal. Just wish these people would embrace this experience, instead of all this daily whining.

Better still put some of us BB bloggers, fansites and superfans in there, we'd put them straight and actually enjoy ourselves.

Cameron going back to his 'I'm so confused/I've got a secret' plan. Not washing this time, Cameron, and they shouldn't be falling for it either.

And that's it for another night, to be continued in Episode 18 where we will see the next shopping task begin, and that will be elaborated on in the next recap. Not one to miss is all I'm saying, and it does look quite fun.

Final thoughts

An ok episode, and Kenaley showing us what she can do again in terms of the Veto. Two in a row and counting, but there's a long way to go yet. Bad episode for Lewis and Cameron yet again, if there's something to complain about then look no further than these two. Much like Statler and Waldorf, they are a pair of muppets.

Eviction prediction - Looks like curtains for Isaac, but anything could ,and probably will, happen in terms of the edit and we could potentially end up losing Akeem or Brooke. Let's see how it goes.

In the meantime, my usual thanks to everyone who has popped in to read this latest post and please keep those RT's, likes, shares and comments coming in.
