Big Brother Canada 6 - Episode 16 - Power of Veto #6

PREVIOUSLY.....

  • Buttoned Up left the housemates hard pressed to keep on pressing
  • During the competition, Will accepted one of Big Brother's temptations and got to speak to his parents and son
  • Kaela won the power for this week, and her showmance partner Derek won safety for the week
  • Ryan spilled the beans about who was potentially targeting Kaela and Derek
  • Kaela nominated Ryan and Will
Find out presently who will win the Veto, and will Maddy stop crying

We pick up the action at the end of the nominations ceremony with Kaela giving her reasons for nominating Will and Ryan

  • Will - A game move and don't want you to go home
  • Ryan - Manipulated every single person in the house. Condescending and a liar and it's time to get a taste of your own medicine

Kaela's words not mine by the way ;) She says she called out Ryan in the ceremony, and also that she's going to stir the pot, and that she doesn't care who she has to lie to or what stories she has to make up or how she makes people feel. She says she loves playing off people's emotions and they are the easiest things to manipulate.

Ryan says he is certain now that nobody has his back in there, and is going to have to win the Veto or do a lot of scrambling to stay in.

Will says Kaela is a dirty liar, she said about Ryan in her speech about how he is manipulating and lying to everyone in the house and thinks she is exactly the same. He says he is coming for Kaela.

Paras says about how she saved Maddy and that Ryan is on the block. In the White Rose bedroom, Maddy thanks Paras and Paras tells her to stay sad and blame everything on Ryan.

Ryan heads to the HoH room to reinforce his version of events to Kaela and remind her that it wasn't him that set everyone against her

He tells her it was a harsh speech against him, and that the idea that he manipulated everyone in the house is a little strong. She disagrees saying she feels strongly about that part, and Ryan tells her she got wrong information. He says Maddy told him to change tact to stay in the house. We see some flashbacks of houseguests talking to Ryan about Kaela and Derek. Kaela says as this point she doesn't even know who is lying and who is not.

Alejandra says she did not that Kaela would put up Will and Ryan, meanwhile Will is acting cool about being on the block and Maddy tells him he will be safe anyway. Will tells Maddy it's never safe being on the block, both are upset with Ryan saying he's so full of *bleep*. Will tells Maddy to go and interrupt his conversation with Kaela and Kaela may say thanks.

Ryan tells Will he would rather not be called a manipulative liar in front of the whole country, but that's the way it is. Ryan asks Will straight out if his name slipped out of Will's mouth today, which Will denies. Ryan says he was told that Will, Johnny, Maddy and Paras all told told Kaela he was the ringleader in trying to get Derek and Kaela out. Ryan says he doesn't want to play as he comes from an honest world, and in this game everyone is lying to his face.

Kaela is in the kitchen with some of the houseguests, telling them Ryan was talking about Will, Paras, Maddy and Johnny and told them to gun for the HoH to get Derek and Kaela on the block. Maddy says she was the ring leader, but Ryan is a grown man and if he thinks he can blame it all on Maddy with no implications on himself then he's wrong.

Maddy goes to see Ryan, and Will leaves immediately saying he's not in the mood to be around anyone. She tells Ryan they stuck their necks out for him, and she starts producing the tears as she tells him about him telling Kaela about Maddy being the ring leader. Ryan tells her if she's not believing him then she wants him gone. Johnny, Will and Alejandra are listening in from outside the bedroom

Kaela is seen laughing in the living area

(COMMERCIAL)

Veto Competition

Playing alongside Kaela, Ryan and Will in the Veto competition will be Johnny, Derek and Erica

This Veto competition is going to be played in 3 rounds, and the overall winner not only wins the Veto, but also a trip for two to London

Round 1 - Players have to collect 21 glasses, and stack them to make a pyramid. If they drop their glasses they have to start over again. First four to finish advance to Round 2

Ryan, Johnny, Erica and Kaela advance to Round 2

Round 2 - The remaining four must manuever a stick through a map of London, and only two will advance through to the final round

Johnny and Ryan advance to the final round

Final Round - The final two have to find jigsaw pieces by breaking pots. If they find black sand, that will mean a time penalty. The first to assemble their jigsaw will win Veto and the trip for two to London.

Johnny wins the Veto and the trip for two to London

Ryan gets very emotional about not winning the Veto, and in a conversation with Erica he says it was win or go home and seems certain his fate is sealed in terms of the eviction

(COMMERCIAL)

Will starts pitching to Johnny about using the Veto on him. Johnny tells him he does not want to risk Will being out of this game. Will tells him that he would feel safer off the block. Johnny warns Will he may *bleep* his entire game for the sake of nothing, as Ryan is probably going home this week anyway. Johnny thinks Will may save him down the road if he uses the Veto to save Will.

Alejandra says she and Olivia managed to stay off the block again, and we see them dancing in the bathroom

Monopoly

In case you missed it, Monopoly was the chosen board game this week. Kaela's invited guests are Will, Ryan and obviously Derek. Ryan compares Monopoly to Big Brother.

(COMMERCIAL)

On to the next day, Erica thinks Johnny narrowly avoided being the replacement nominee this week and is concerned Will may go home instead of Ryan.

Johnny tells Kaela he doesn't know what to do in terms of the Veto, and then shortly afterwards Kaela suggests she will take a shot at Erica if Johnny uses the Veto

(COMMERCIAL)

Veto ceremony

The usual part where the Veto holder gets the nominees to pitch why they should have the Veto used on them.

Johnny decides NOT to use the Veto, but little do they know Canada will have the ultimate power in the next not so live episode.

Canada can either vote to save Ryan, vote to save Will or roll the power over for one more time next week

Who stays or not, Canada decides

And that's a wrap for this episode, next up one from Will, Ryan or another will leave the Big Brother house

Thanks for reading this post if you have popped in, and any retweets, likes or shares are very much appreciated :)

Closing thought - And this is just my opinion, Kaela's gone a bit power hungry and given how pro Ryan the edit was in this episode I would not be surprised if Ryan gets saved, but ends up going next week. Will most likely going nowhere, so it will probably be whoever the replacement is.

It's up to you, Canada, Ryan will more than likely go next week so please don't waste this power this week and let him be cut loose and see who is up next week.

Big Brother Canada - Episode 15 - HoH and nominations #6

Welcome, citizens of Big Brother world, to episode #15 of Big Brother Canada...Tonight sees the next HoH crowned and who they will put on the chopping block
PREVIOUSLY....

  • After Johnny won his second Veto competition, he gained increasing support to make a move against Derek and Kaela
  • But Johnny decided to play it safe, and didn't use Veto, Ryan and Merron were left on the chopping block
  • Merron left the house in a 5-3 vote
Tonight sees the endurance based HoH competition Buttoned Up, and the battlelines are drawn and tears are spilt in tonight's episode so without further ado lets get this show on the road

We pick up the action as Merron left the house. Everyone is congratulating Ryan on staying in, meanwhile Olivia says that she voted to evict Merron because it would have gone to a tie if she had voted Ryan, and Erica would have voted out Merron anyway so no point in getting her hands dirty.

Alejandra says her and Olivia have been working with Kaela and Derek, and also that both are big duos and moving forward need to keep Kaela and Derek close

Meanwhile, Kaela says she went against the majority of the house and voted to evict Ryan and knew he was coming after her and Derek, and keeping Merron was good for her game.

Ryan says the vote was much too close, but can now focus on rebuilding relationships and figure out where he is in the house and needs to win the HoH competition

HoH competition

Arisa opens the HoH competition, and the rules are that they must keep their finger pressed on a button. Big Brother will offer them temptations throughout the competition, and any houseguests who leave their button will be eliminated from the competition. Temptations can be obtained if a houseguest leaves their button and pushes the buzzer in front of them but this will also result in elimination from the HoH competition. The last houseguest standing will be the new HoH. Erica, as outgoing HoH, is not eligible to play

Arisa also mentions that there will be no Have Nots for this coming week, but for every 5 minutes a houseguest remains in the competition will mean an hour on slop

Erica announces Temptation #1, which is if a houseguest hits the buzzer they win a pizza party for the entire house following this competition. Kaela asks if there will be booze

She then says she and Derek have been targets since they started working together, and she wants to win HoH and will not give that up for a pizza party

Temptation not taken

Time elapsed: 20 minutes

Derek says he is never pushing a button ever again after this, and Will calls for the next temptation

Temptation #2, the first person to hit the buzzer will win $1,000 cash

Paras pushes the buzzer and wins $1,000, and is eliminated from the competition

Paras says if either side of the house wins, she is still feeling secure

Alejandra lets out a few belches, and says some of them have been on slop for a week and still feeling a little gassy

Time elapsed: 50 minutes

Johnny thinks switching his arms will extend his longevity in this competition. He wants to win HoH, and says he has been throwing Kaela and Derek's names around and if either of them win HoH, he could be in trouble.

Ryan says he doesn't feel safe and he survived the vote by the skin of his teeth and needs to win this HoH or he could be going home.

Ryan and Maddy are eliminated

Maddy starts crying as she says she should have stayed in. She says the game is so important to her and doesn't have the vocabulary to explain it and that nobody is safe in the Big Brother house. She explains she has been on people's radars for a while and really needed the win to keep herself safe.

Temptation #3, the first person to hit the buzzer will be safe for the week

Maddy is still crying, and she says the one thing she would have left her spot for is announced and it is so frustrating.

Derek pushes the buzzer and is safe for the week, but is eliminated from this competition

Derek says there was no way he was winning this competition, so this was the best chance of keeping him or Kaela safe.

Alejandra is eliminated

Time elapsed: 1 hour and 28 minutes

Will says he never loses concentration, but he is getting bored. Olivia says she doesn't need to win this competition, but doesn't really want to as if she wins it will force her to show her game.

Erica announces that from now on the remaining houseguests can only use one hand to keep their button pressed

Temptation #4, the first houseguest to press their buzzer will get a phone call from a loved one straight away

(COMMERCIAL)

Will presses the buzzer, and he gets a phone call from home

Johnny is eliminated as he switched his hands

Time elapsed: 1 hour and 42 minutes

Will talks to his mum, dad and son as per his temptation. Cue lots of tears from the houseguests.

He is told that everyone he knows is watching Big Brother every night, and everyone is cheering him on.

Kaela and Olivia are the remaining houseguests left, and Erica announces there are no more temptations left

Olivia is eliminated, and the new HoH is Kaela

She is very happy she and Derek are safe for the week. She says she wants to mix things up and doesn't want anyone to feel comfortable and wants to stir the pot.

In the bathroom, Olivia says she will be on slop longest, but Kaela offers a Wendy's meal. Kaela says her, Olivia, Derek and Alejandra are all fine this week.

Paras tells Ryan that Kaela winning HoH was the worst case scenario. Ryan says he will have to win Veto and pull himself off the block. He doesn't want to unpack until the nominations ceremony.

Who wants to see my HoH room

Monopoly has been chosen to be this weeks board game. We see a pic of Kaela's cats and also of her sister and the rest of her family. She says she is looking forward to having some alone time with Derek to talk 'strategy'. Kaela's video message is from her parents.

Kaela says Erica, Alejandra and Olivia are freaking out and wondering what she will do this week. She says she doesn't know what is going to happen and is going to to talk to everyone and see who gives her what. She confirms she will have a conversation with Ryan.

Derek thinks Will has to go. He thinks that putting Maddy up will result in Maddy going and the same with Paras.

(COMMERCIAL)

Usual Wendy's meal segment, this week it's Kaela and her guest Olivia

Back to the game, Paras says herself, Derek and Kaela were in an aliance called Real Deal and they grew apart a little bit. Now that Kaela has won HoH, Paras feels she has to talk to Derek to see if they are good. She tells Derek they have been on the same page since day 2, and still feels the alliance is solid and hopes Derek feels the same.

Kaela says she wants to use this opportunity to feel as empowered as she can, and to get as much intel. She wants to know who has been targeting her and Derek and wants to shake things up. Ryan tells Kaela that a lot of people are going to pour a lot of *bleep* in her ears, and Kaela says she is looking forward to it. Ryan drops Maddy's name when it comes to telling Kaela about targeting her and Derek. We see a little flashback to that particular moment. Johnny's  and Paras's names also get dropped as well. Ryan thinks Maddy is trying to socialise everyone. Kaela tells Ryan to watch his back and take everything with a grain of salt.

In the bathroom, Kaela says she wants to put doubt in everyone's head, and doesn't want to tell anybody what she wants to do

(COMMERCIAL)

Kaela wants to confront the people Ryan told her about in their conversation, and tell them some truths and lies and watch the chaos ensue

First up is Johnny, and she tells him she knows her and Derek are usually the talk of the week. She staright out tells Johnny she knows he was one of the people and accuses him of saying he wanted people to go after her and Derek. Johnny confesses, but says it wasn't a motive of his, and that it's not just him and would love to know who is trying to get him out.

Will says he and Kaela made a deal he would be safe this week, and is just checking to make sure she will stick to it. She says she is not saying anything to anyone. Will says he wouldn't have put Derek and Kaela on the block if he had won HoH. Kaela starts laughing as Will storms out of the room to call everyone out.

In the Red Rose bedroom, Will said Kaela made a deal for him, to take a phone call. He then goes on to say people have been throwing him under the bus alleging he was after Derek and Kaela. He says all hell is going to break loose when he finds out who it is, and storms out of the bedroom

A few cut aways to Kaela laughing in the HoH room

Will asks Ryan if he threw Will under the bus, to which Ryan denies. Ryan says he thinks everyone thinks that he will throwing everyone's name under the bus to protect Derek and Kaela, but he is protecting himself

(COMMERCIAL)

Kaela says she has dealt with Johnny, and spun Will out of control and now it's time to put Maddy on the spot. Kaela tells Maddy they haven't built trust. Derek says Maddy has only approached him when she has been worried about something. Kaela accuses Maddy of being the ring leader to break up Derek and Kaela, to which Maddy denies. Maddy starts crying again as she leaves the HoH room.

Maddy says to Paras, that she is certain she is going up and starts crying again. Paras says she doesn't want to lose Maddy, and it could affect her game. Paras also says Maddy is having a meltdown, and will talk to Kaela and Derek to make sure Maddy doesn't get nominated.

In said conversation, talk comes back to Ryan to which Kaela says he thinks he is sitting pretty right now

(COMMERCIAL)

Nominations ceremony

Shortlist - Ryan, Johnny, Maddy and Will

Sofa gatherage ensues as we head towards the nominations ceremony

"As Head of Household, it is my duty to nominate two guests for eviction"

Kaela nominates Will and Ryan

Maddy starts crying again

And to close the show, the voiceover actually says "Will Maddy ever stop crying"

Will and Ryan and Kaela guaranteed for Veto this week, and we will find out who the other 3 players are in the next episode

Big Brother Canada 6 - Episode 14 - Eviction #6

Greetings, citizens, and welcome to episode #14 of Big Brother Canada 2018, and it's eviction #6

"Coming up in the next hour, we'll find out if Ryan or Merron will be saved, and we have another bombshell to get to, and Canada, it involves YOU. So let's do this, Big Brother Canada starts right NOW"

PREVIOUSLY:

  • At a messy HoH competition, the houseguests paid the price for their previous nights drinking
  • Erica once again found herself in power, prompting the vultures to circle the HoH room
  • Erica decided to put Ryan and Merron on the block
  • In the Veto competition, Merron tried to give it his all but ultimately failed to deliver
  • Johnny was the houseguest to ultimately prevail, but after much deliberation decided NOT to use the Power of Veto
Will the ladies continue to dominate, and who will leave the house...Ryan or Merron, the houseguests will decide presently

Arisa welcomes us into the show, and says that Merron has gone from pawn to target and plugs tonights eviction, and the twist which will see Canada get the power later in  the week. More to come on that later...

On to tonight's highlights, and we pick up the action during the Veto ceremony and Johnny deciding NOT to use the Veto. He says he would love to be the hero, but wants to keep the nominations the same as it would not benefit his own game.

Ryan says it's been a death sentence (not literally) for anyone sitting on the block next to Merron in recent weeks. He says his strategy is keep his head down and not do anything that may blow up his game

Merron says Ryan is a bit too smart for his own good, and he (Merron) has to secure some key votes this week

Paras has noticed the house has been voting pretty much unanimously, but things are about to change and there is no more hiding.

In the Red Rose bedroom, Merron starts pitching to Kaela about keeping him in. He says about how Ryan is telling him how much he loves him, but also that Merron is going home this week. Kaela tells Merron that Ryan wants him to freak out and do something. Merron says he doesn't freak out, and then questions how they could trust someone who blurts out stuff like that. Kaela calls Ryan untrustworthy, and says she is voting to keep Merron and wants Merron in the game. She goes on to say that she doesn't like Ryan as a person, and after a short scene with Ryan contemplating eating an apple, Kaela tells Merron that people think he is not playing too much game and advises him to be a bit more aggressive.

In the Have Not catacombs, Alejandra, Oliva and Paras discuss getting rid of Ryan. Alejandra says she wants to call him out so bad. Olivia says the smarter mover is to get Ryan out right now, and Alejandra says he is not good for any of their games

Ryan is waiting to talk to Erica, and says she could be a potentially deciding vote should the vote go to a tie, and is certain she is on his side even if it means throwing Merron under the bus by associating him with Daela. He thinks Erica wants Daela to go, which means if she thinks Merron is working with them, she may vote to keep Ryan.

Erica says she considers Ryan a friend in this game, and asks him to consider her a friend in this game. She thinks she is not a target of Ryan's, which Ryan confirms. Ryan believes he has Will, Paras, Maddy and Johnny as well.as Erica if needed for votes to stay in. Erica says its not so cut and dry, as Ryan is an open book and the target is not aimed at her, as for Merron she says he is not proving to be very good at comps, and would be very confident she could beat him if he stuck around.

In the bathroom, Will hints that Merron is working with Derek and Kaela. Erica says Kaela is highly competitive, doesn't like to lose, has an ego that needs stroking and there is no way she would recruit someone like Merron.

(COMMERCIAL)

Back to the house, Alejandra talks to Kaela and Olivia about what they would do if they could leave the house for one day. Kaela says she would snuggle her kitties and watch a movie on the  with her friends. Olivia says she would hang out with her family, go to a restaurant and go see a movie

To the White Rose room, and Paras is talking about her childhood. She says her parents wanted a better future and knew Canada was the place. Her dad came to Canada on his own, and basically set up everything for a year while. They were away from him for a year, and she says the rest of the family moved to Canada when Paras was about 10 and she started in grade five in school. She and her family became residents within 3 years, and then became Canadian citizens after another 3 years.

Erica says, up to now she has been keeping the peace in the house and be on good terms with everybody including the power couples of Alejandra and Olivia and also Derek and Kaela

Merron says he is stressing about what may happen if the vote ends in a tie and Erica has the deciding vote. He has decided to go and speak to Erica to see if she is on his side. She insinuates he and Derek and Kaela are close, to which he denies and says everyone is thinking like that. She tells Merron she thinks she knows where Ryan's target is aimed.

(COMMERCIAL)

Arisa says how eight women started this game, and right now 6 are still standing and they are running the show. We are shown a segment of the ladies still in the house.

Back to Arisa, and she plugs the last minute campaigning of Merron and Ryan before the not so live vote.

Kaela wants to convince Erica that Ryan is not the right one to keep in the house. She says if Ryan keeps convincing everyone to keep him in, the he is so good. She says she will vote for him if he makes it to final 2. Kaela says there are fractures in the alliances in the house, but everyone is really only after her own game. She gathers the 'troops' aka Alejandra, Olivia, and Erica. There is still talk about evicting Ryan, and it is suggested that Ryan may start some new alliances so strategically he needs to go.

In the Red Rose bedroom, Paras suggests Ryan said Alejandra said something about not trusting 'that bitch' which she denies, and Paras suggests he may have been telling lies. Alejandra says she is going to call Ryan out.

Alejandra is mad and Ryan is summoned to the White Rose room. Erica tells him there are some concerns. Alejandra asks him straight out about what he think he heard at the pool table. Ryan doesn't deny he heard something and doesn't think it was a man she was talking about, then says Erica was in her room, so there are only two other options. Alejandra denies saying what Ryan thinks he heard, and she gets even more mad with Ryan and washes her hands of him and will vote him out.

(COMMERCIAL)

Eviction vote

Arisa goes live to the house, and reminds them what they are playing for in $100,000, a European dream vacation for two, and a $30,000 voucher from The Brick

Arisa says how stressful it must be for them in there and they and us are treated to sort of Big Brother Canada 2018 funnies video

Time for the eviction vote, and a reminder of the rules

  • Erica as HoH can only vote in the event of a tie
  • The two nominees cannot vote
  • Once a houseguest reaches, in this case, 5 votes means Ryan or Merron
  • No conferring or speaking during the process is allowed
And off we go

Derek votes to evict Ryan
Kaela votes to evict Ryan
Johnny votes to evict Merron

(COMMERCIAL)

Maddy votes to evict Merron
Paras votes to evict Merron
Alejandra votes to evict Ryan
Will votes to evict Merron
Olivia votes to evict Merron

Evicted - Merron
Result - 5 votes to 3

On his way out, Merron tells them Canada voted him and Veronica. Arisa asks where his game talk was from the start when he went in.

His goodbye messages are played to him, and Arisa plugs the Facebook interview where Merron will have a longer interview on the official Facebook page

(COMMERCIAL)

HoH competition

Buttoned Up is the name of the new competition, and houseguests have to reach up and keep a button pressed. Big Brother will offer them temptations, but if they unpress their button and hit the buzzer in front of them, they are eliminated. Erica, as outgoing HoH is ineligible to play in this competition

This competition will be concluded in the next episode

Arisa tells them there are no Have Nots this week, but every 5 minutes they are in the competition they will be on slop for an hour.

To close the show, Arisa tells us about the new twist which will come into play once the Veto competition is done in the coming week. Basically whoever is on the block after Veto, Canada can vote to take one of them off. If the power is not used then there is one more chance the week after.

And that's it for another episode, and before closing time can I just direct people to britishpodcastawards.com and vote for your favourite podcast if it is on the list, pretty simple and safe to use

Remember, Rob has a Podcast will be on the air soon after the televised episodes, so be sure to check them out...

Big Brother Canada 6 - Episode 13 - Power of Veto #5

Welcome, citizens, as we head into episode #13 for Big Brother Canada 2018, and tonight sees another Power of Veto competition

New HoH - Erica
Nominated - Ryan and Merron

Can Ryan or Merron fight their way off the block and win Veto, find out presently

PREVIOUSLY:

  • On the night of the double eviction, Olivia won HoH, and she considered putting Maddy up beside Merron
  • But when Johnny blew a fuse, Olivia kept her cool and put up Ryan instead
  • Ryan won Power of Veto and saved himself
  • Olivia put Hamza on the block in Ryan's place, and Hamza was promptly sent packing
  • Big Brother swapped the tears of Hamza's exit, for cheers as in a frat party
  • The hungover housemates got an early HoH competition, and Erica once again stood supreme
  • She put Ryan and Merron on the block
Tonight sees the next Veto competition, and off we go

We pick up the action during the nominations ceremony when Erica put Ryan and Merron on the block

Erica says she chose to nominate Ryan as he's popular with a lot of the other houseguests, and she's trying to change from aggressive moves to popular moves in order to maintain her social game.

She chose to nominate Merron as he's the perpetual pawn, and says those people can get carried to the end but she doesn't want that.

Merron says this is his third consecutive time on the block and feels nothing but frustration about that, and has nobody to blame but himself.

Ryan says he is feeling a lot comfortable being on the block this time, and feels that Erica has his back and she wants Merron to go home. Erica tells Ryan he is not the target this week, and wants to see strong players duking it out at the end. Ryan says if Merron wins Veto and takes himself off the block, it could be a substantial move.

Olivia and Alejandra discuss the possibility of pulling Merron in. She speaks about her and Alejandra's partnership where they indirectly contributed to Veronica and Hamza's downfall and she says they will stop at nothing to get further in this game. Alejandra notes that Merron doesn't talk game with anybody, and she and Olivia could be the ones he will talk to as he is looking to talk game.

Alejandra is unsure how deep the relationship goes between Ryan and Erica, but could see him being a number for her further into the game, whereas Merron could be a number for Alejandra and Olivia. Olivia tells Alejandra they will have to concoct something to make sure Ryan goes home.

In the Red Rose bedroom, Merron is telling himself that Erica is having the best Big Brother experience, and he is having the worst. He says he is not confident he will be pulled off the block if anyone else wins Veto. In walks Paras, and she hugs Merron and tells him he has to win the Veto. He tells Paras the idea of having Erica deciding what happens to him p's him off.

Paras says Merron is a really nice guy, and doesn't have anybody in this house and if she gives him some attention, he could be a number for her further into the game.

Veto Player picks

Erica summons everyone to the sofas...If you remember and have been following, the HoH and two nominees are automatically in the competition, and three more houseguests are picked along with a host for the competition in a random draw

Three houseguests picked are Alejandra, Maddy and Johnny and Paras is picked by Erica to be the host

Big Brother will inform them when it is competition time

In the White Rose bedroom, Ryan tells Merron he doesn't want it to be nasty or awkward, but there is still an element of one of them has to beat the other. Ryan says if it's something other than physical, he has a pretty good shot. He says he wants to poke away at Merron's self doubt and try to make it worse.

(COMMERCIAL)

Veto Competition

This competition is called Skip the Dishes. The houseguests will go one at a time in this competition. Houseguests must look at the 10 orders on the tablet provided. The houseguests must deliver the orders in the fastest time, if the order is delivered correctly someone will answer the door of the right address. If nobody answers, then try again. Key bits of detail will be missing on the addresses making the delivery a little more difficult. The fastest houseguest will win Power of Veto and also $5.000 from Skip the Dishes

And off we go...

Several shots of the players going through the competition ensue, everyone seems to cruise through but Merron really struggles

In reverse order:

Last - Maddy
Fifth - Merron
Fourth - Ryan

And winning $5,000 gift voucher and more importantly Power of Veto is JOHNNY

Merron says at least he wasn't last, but is done beating himself over not winning another competition

In the Red Rose bedroom, Olivia says she is glad Johnny won, and will talk to Erica later about why
she wants Merron out before Ryan. She says she wants to convince Johnny to use the Veto on Merron so Ryan goes home, but she has to be subtle about it.

(COMMERCIAL)

Hasbro House Party

This week's chosen game is Speak Out. The object of the game is to correctly guess what phrases are being spoken, but there is a catch as the person saying the phrase has to wear an object in their mouth. Alejandra, Merron, Erica and Kaela are attending this week's house party.

Will, Ryan and Maddy head outside, and Will confirms it's been 30 days they have been in there and they toast the 30 day point. Will and Alejandra discuss what they would do with the prize money should they win.

Merron pitches to Johnny about using the Veto on him, and tells Johnny he is not gunning for him and would love to work with him should he stay in

(COMMERCIAL)

Johnny says he is dying to use the Veto, and wants to be the evil genius he can be. He wonders if it will jeopardise his own game if he uses the Veto. He says he wants to get Alejandra and Olivia on board if he wants to use the Veto, and that will be two votes. Olivia says at least Johnny is thinking about using the Veto, as now they are on the same page.

Derek and Kaela seem to be the main targets for a backdoor should Johnny use the Veto

(COMMERCIAL)

Veto Ceremony

Johnny gives Merron and Ryan a few seconds to explain why they should have the Veto used on them

Johnny decides NOT to use the Power of Veto, so Erica's nominations stay the same and it will be Ryan or Merron leaving the house in the next episode

Merron says he has to dig deep to stay in the house, and Ryan says for him it's scramble mode to make sure he doesn't go

Johnny says it was too much risk for him right now to use the Veto

Who will leave, Ryan or Merron, the houseguests decide in the next episode

And that is a wrap for another episode

Closing thought - Reasonable episode, but it's been said many times already this house needs a shake up badly before it's too late...Too many getting comfortable in there

Big Brother Canada - Episode 12 - HoH and nominations #5

Welcome, citizens, to episode #12 for Big Brother Canada 2018

Tonight sees a new HoH crowned, and see who they put on the block pre-Veto

Outgoing HoH - Olivia

Evicted - Veronica and Hamza

PREVIOUSLY:

  • After Erica reeled in the Veto, she shocked the house when she chose to use the Veto and save Maddy from the chopping block
  • She then put Veronica on the block as the replacement nominee
  • To no surprise, Veronica was evicted
  • Arisa surprised the houseguests when she told them it was a double eviction and someone else would be leaving
  • Olivia sealed her first HoH of the season
  • She then proceeded to put Ryan and Merron on the block
  • Ryan took himself out of the firing line after winning Power of Veto, and Olivia named Hamza as the replacement nominee
  • Hamza was sent packing
We join the action as Olivia was crowned the new HoH, during the commercial break she says to Alejandra she is going to put up Maddy and Merron, and that she's going to tell Hamza that she doesn't want Merron out. Erica says Maddy is best to get out. Alejandra says Johnny is going to be p'd, but they can do damage control later.

Johnny talks with Olivia, and asks what is happening and she tells him not to get mad. He says she's not going to *bleep* with him and says she lied to him. She insists it's going to be either Maddy and Merron, or Ryan and Merron. Johnny says Maddy is not touching that block. Johnny says he is not allowing Maddy to go on the block, as she is a number for him and someone he can rely on in this game.

Olivia then says she may backdoor Hamza, and that she doesn't want to ruin what she has going with Johnny in the game.

Back to Olivia's nominations, and she puts up MERRON and RYAN. After the Veto competition is done, Olivia goes around asking about backdooring Hamza. Olivia then puts Hamza on the block as the replacement and he is voted out.

Olivia says the mood has changed in the house to super depressing, and nobody is celebrating as Hamza just left. She then says he didn't die and just left the house. Erica is seen hugging Ryan as she bursts into tears, and Ryan says Hamza deserved a shot. Meanwhile, Merron says Hamza was the only person to completely have his back, and there's nobody else in the house that makes him feel that comfortable.

Erica says Hamza meant the world to her, and was a huge rock emotionally and always knew where she stood with him.In the Red Rose bedroom, she says to Alejandra she is really agitated and wonders how Hamza's eviction benefited anyone. She then says Hamza and Veronica were 2 big targets and asks who is left now and threw away their only shield

Alejandra says she gets why Erica is mad, and understands Olivia's game move, but feels stuck in the middle. She then says to Olivia in the bathroom, that is was a lot of pressure on her to which Olivia agrees but Alejandra says she wished they had thought it through more. Johnny now walks in and says how rough it was. Alejandra says there are still a lot of floaters, and then that things are a little all over the place and everyone seems to be working their own agenda.

Paras says there are a lot of conversations happening all over the house, and so much drama going on, but you can count on Big Brother to surprise them and show them a good time

Pre-HoH competition

More outside contact as there is a frat party going on in the living area, this by the way was why the feeds were off for so long the other week. Ryan observes that a frat party would have no further implications, but also knows Big Brother is up to something and what it may be. Maddy thinks this frat party may have something to with the HoH competition.

Once the intruders leave the house, there are HoH t-shirts and more booze in the pantry for the houseguests. Several shots of the houseguests enjoying the frat party ensue. Houseguests are now totally drunk.

If this were BB UK, it wouldn't be at all surprising if TPTB threw in a s**t-stirring task about now while the houseguests were in this state

(COMMERCIAL)

Morning has broken for the next day in the house, and Big Brother plays a loud rooster into the house. Fond memory of BBUK civilian series 7 when Glyn got so drunk and was puking everywhere, and Big Brother played an audible of Glyn puking the next morning to wake them up.

Merron says he knows exactly what's going to go down, and that is they are going to play the HoH competition that very minute while everyone is suitably hung over.

HoH competition

Alejandra says everyone looks haggard, and don't smell too good either. Olivia, as the outgoing HoH, is not eligible to play in this competition, but she is a little worse for wear and makes a beeline for the kitchen sink and pukes. She then takes a bite out of the pizza from the night before, and brings the buckets out for anyone who needs them.

Will staggers to his podium saying this is crazy

This competition is called About Last Night and it's a true or false game. Pretty straightforward really. Questions will be asked about last nights frat party, houseguests must step up for true and step down for false. Houseguests who answer incorrectly will be eliminated, and the last houseguest standing will be crowned the new HoH. The first four out of the competition will be have nots for the week

And off we go....

1. The banner in front of the DJ booth said BB FRAT

Answer - False

Eliminated - Merron

2. The frat boy that did the worm was the last dancer in the dance off

Answer - True

Eliminated - Kaela

3. The DJ yelled Party Foul before Dance Off

Answer - True

Eliminated - Alejandra

4. The frat boy who handed out drinks was wearing a headband

Answer - False

5. A frat boy passed out on the couch before each houseguest had a shot

Answer - True

Eliminated - Derek, Paras, Ryan, Will  and Johnny eliminated

6. All of the shots delivered were on one platter

Answer - False

7. The frat boys throwing the football around were wearing the same shirt

Answer - False

Winner and new HoH - ERICA

Have nots for this week - Merron, Kaela, Alejandra and Johnny

Johnny was Erica's choice, as there were several houseguests eliminated at the same time on one question

Erica says this is her second HoH win, and really needs to think what is best for her game moving forward

(COMMERCIAL)

Who wants to see my HoH room

Very muted response this time as some houseguests are still totally hungover, and others say thanks but no thanks in not so many words. Eventually everyone gathers outside the HoH room, including Will. Erica says she never left, and this time she gets a video message from her brother.

Maddy requests an audience with Erica, which is granted. Maddy says Erica put her on the block last week, so it makes sense that it happens again. Maddy says she has been playing to Erica's ego, and tries to pitch to Erica to keep her safe this week.

Erica wonders if she puts up Merron and Ryan, and wants Merron to go home. She says two big targets have gone, and wants to go the opposite way to balance things up. She says to Maddy that she really didn't want to be HoH this week.

In the Red Rose bedroom, Johnny is wrapping up ready for his stay in the Have Nots catacombs and is wandering around the house in his layers, saying he is a hunchback lady.

(COMMERCIAL)

In the HoH room, Ryan is telling Erica that the assumption outside of the doors is that Erica wants to send a floater home to reduce the target on her back. Ryan tells her that is not to going to happen, as the floaters will take each other out. He advises it is easy for her to put the likes of him on the block, so sending him home is one less vote for her later.

In the bathroom, Paras and Olivia wish they could have a spa day

Back in the HoH room, Erica has picked Alejandra for the Wendy's meal treat this week, and Erica says despite Alejandra being a Have Not, it is easier for Erica to invite her along for the Wendy's treat and also to talk some game as well.

Alejandra admits she is worried about Paras getting HoH in the future, to which Erica agrees and says Paras has to go soon.

(COMMERCIAL)

In the bathroom, Johnny asks Erica if she trusts him to which she says yes. Johnny says he feels weird, as Alejandra told Ryan he freaked out at Maddy being the potential target and that's why Ryan was put up. Johnny then tells Erica about the alliance between Olivia and Alejandra to which Erica is stunned, and then tells Erica is making deals with every single person.

Merron says he knew he wasn't the target last week, and has to be way more aggressive when he approaches her with his pitch.

He tells Erica he doesn't know what she is thinking right now, and she tells him straight out that he is 'Pawn Central' in this game. Merron points out everyone loves Will, and says he himself doesn't show much emotion, and that Will is more emotional. Erica says Will and Merron are floater material, but Will has a much better social game.

Next up to see Erica is Paras. Erica says Olivia and Alejandra are saying to Maddy that they are the reason she got pulled down from the chopping block. Paras says they are taking the credit for Erica's doing, and that's the part that scares Paras about Alejandra. She also says Alejandra will backpedal for a new HoH, and she's the one person in the group that would turn on them.

(COMMERCIAL)

Nominations ceremony

Erica ponders whether to take out a floater or another big threat

Shortlist - Ryan, Will, Merron and Alejandra

"As Head of Household, it is my duty to nominate two houseguests for eviction"

Nominated - Ryan and Merron

Ryan - A brain like yours could be seen as a bit of a wildcard
Merron - Been on the block twice already, so the fact that anyone beside you goes home is not good for my (Erica's) game

Who will win Veto, will Ryan or Merron fight their way off the block

Find out in episode #13

And that's a wrap for another episode and post

Closing thought - Not the best nominations for Erica, despite everything she was told about Alejandra in that she went in the opposite direction

An OK episode, but please BB shake this house up so everyone starts playing and doesn't coast through

Big Brother Canada 6 - Episode 11 - Double Eviction

Not so live from the Big Brother Canada House, welcome citizens to episode #11 of Big Brother Canada 2018

Opening the show in this episode, we start with some furious flashbacks of the houseguests

Johnny: 23 days now and it's driving me crazy
Paras: This game is so hard
Voice over: This season, the houseguests have straddled the line between heaven and hell....
Kaela (to Derek): Of course, we are going to be on your side
Voice over: (cont.) desperately keeping to their angelic sides to keep the peace
Johnny: Having this cocoon of kindess, I want to rein down some slaughter
Voice over: (cont.) They've stifled their dark sides, so they can play all sides
Paras: I want to run this house
Voice over: But it's time to stop pretending....It's time to battle it out in a double eviction. Tonight the houseguests will experience the true reckoning as the house shakes beneath their feet. Everyone is a target and nobody is safe.

Arisa welcomes us in, and immediately plugs the double eviction

To the house action, and we pick up where we left off at the end of the Veto ceremony, as in Veto winner and also HoH, Erica, using the Veto on Maddy. As HoH, Erica then had to pick a replacement nominee and she picked Veronica as Maddy's replacement.

For those that don't know what happens in the double eviction scenario:

Once the first evictee is gone, it's straight to the next competition to decide the next HoH, then they put two houseguests on the block, then it's straight into the Veto competition and decision after that, and then it's the next vote off whoever is on the block straight after Veto.

Hope that is clear enough for everybody who doesn't understand this format of Big Brother

Back to the show, and Veronica says to Hamza that they knew that was bound to happen in her being the replacement nominee

In the Diary Room, Maddy says she is safe and it's one of the few times in her life she is speechless

Veronica says she is really p'd off, and Erica made it seem she was a phony and a liar. Erica tells her they knew they would come to odds eventually, and it was one of those things where if Erica didn't take the shot now. Veronica tells Erica the game is not over, and Veronica says the only thing she can do now is rally some troops to try and stay in the game.

Erica says it was an A plus backdoor, and she feels like the baddest b***h in the house

Merron points out that he and Veronica were the last two into the house, and now they are on the block together. Will joins Merron and Veronica and asks what just happened, and never saw that coming.

Merron says Veronica has ruffled so many feathers in the past week, and hopes that will work in his favour for the vote. Veronica says they better not miss with the shot.

In the Red Rose bedroom, Alejandra and Olivia are quietly celebrating and share a high five. Alejandra says she is ecstatic, and the best part is that she and Olivia orchestrated this move to target Veronica. Alejandra says to Olivia, that it does paint a huge target on Erica and they don't have to do anything. Alejandra says she wanted Veronica out from the start, and says goodbye in Spanish to Veronica.

In the bathroom, Maddy is applying make up. She says it is her game now, and it's Veronica's loss and it is her gameplay that got her where she is.

In the HoH room, Erica says it's been a perfect day to Hamza, and he says he is so proud of her and says he got Erica to the end. Hamza says he thought he was the wildcard, but admits he was fooled when it came to the Veto and Erica choosing Maddy. He then says he has so much respect for Erica.

In the White Rose bedroom, Paras hugs Veronica and Veronica again says she is p'd. Paras tells her she will have to campaign hard, and if everyone keeps her in the *bleep* house she will draw a line in the sand and promises to wreak havoc if she stays. Paras says she will campaign for Veronica, as she wants Veronica to go after Erica for her, and then says she will work on Johnny, Derek and Kaela. Johnny walks in, and asks how Veronica is going to campaign to stay in. After some ranting, Veronica says she is starting a war if she stays in.

Back to the studio, and Arisa plugs the house action and first vote off

(COMMERCIAL)

"Welcome back to Big Brother Canada, where tonight we have got a double eviction. Both votes are coming up, but first Big Brother Canada icon Cassandra stopped by the house this week with a crazy makeover mission, and it was like totally awesome. Have a look at their hair rising good time"

Back to the house, and as Arisa said, here comes Cassandra. Basically they are all fast asleep as she bursts in saying "Wake up b***hes the Persian princess is here". Her first stop is the Red Rose bedroom and then obviously it's the White Rose bedroom.

Cassandra's hair makeover challenge

"Good morning houseguests. Today is Hair Makeover Day, and the guys will be giving the ladies an 80's B makeover. The team with the best makeover will win $2,000 and a year's supply of make up products. Erica is ineligible to play as she is the current HoH. Ladies, it is time to head upstairs and freshen up, and guys, stay downstairs and get some style tips from yours truly"

Twist for the guys: To give the WORST hair makeover, and they are forbidden from telling the ladies

Several shots of the challenge ensue, and the pairings are:

Hamza and Paras
Merron and Kaela
Johnny and Veronica
Will and Maddy
Derek and Alejandra
Ryan and Olivia

After much chopping and trimming, we move to the presentations of the hairstyles presented of course by Cassandra

Cassandra reveals the twist to the girls and moves on to announce the winner

Winners - Johnny and Veronica

They will attend a dinner for two as a reward from Big Brother. For the ladies, Cassandra announces that in the bathroom there are hair care products from L'Oreal for them to use. At the dinner for two Johnny toasts Veronica.

On to the next day, and Hamza says it has been a while since Veronica was announced the replacement nominee and things have been getting boring. Hamza says to Veronica and Will that he is bored of fake people, to which Veronica agrees. Hamza then suggests to Veronica to call a house meeting and call everybody out. Veronica is dubious about this idea, but Hamza tells her that if she leaves she will leave with her head held high, and to put some fear in their hearts and go off on everybody.

Hamza says he is there to stir the pot, there to create havoc, and to get the popcorn ready

House Meeting

Veronica summons the houseguests to the sofas, and tells them she is pretty angry right now. She continues by telling them that there are a lot of people being fake in the house right now and telling her things that they want to hear, and if any of them want them out of the house to tell her to her face and stop being fake. She asks them when they are going to draw the line, and if they are on the block next week to draw the line in the sand. She says her personal game was to try and be as authentic as she could in the house, and she will have their backs if they choose to keep her and feels she is the only one to give anyone anything. She tells them to stop playing summer camp, and now's the time to prove their trust to her.

Paras says Veronica's tirade was a bit intense, but she liked it and would like to keep Veronica in as she would be a big target and shield for Paras.

Paras pitches to Maddy about keeping Veronica in and says last week her alliance took out one of their own, and Maddy wonders if Erica is one of the said alliance.

Paras says Veronica could be used as a weapon to get Erica out and could be useful for her own game

(COMMERCIAL)

Due to time constraints it is only a very brief interview as they have to get someone else out of there, and Arisa plugs the After the Show feature on Facebook

Arisa goes back to the house, and announces the double eviction and tells them to go to the backyard to prepare for the next HoH competition

(COMMERCIAL)

Tears all round as Hamza leaves the house

Arisa tells Hamza he was really incredible to watch, and that Erica was the sole vote to save Hamza and she was very emotional doing it. He says from the moment he went in, he and Erica developed a good relationship and wishes her all the best

Arisa again plugs the Facebook page

No mention for the jury or next HoH, so that is it for this episode and on to episode #12 we go very soon

Closing thoughts, a bit rushed all round but the two who went were actually playing and Veronica does have a point that it is a bit summer camp in there

Big Brother need to have something up their sleeve, so the remaining houseguests don't cruise through without being shaken up a bit as who is going to shake them up now Veronica and Hamza have gone, or this season is in danger of crashing on the rocks
