Yes it's been another while, citizens, but here we go again
Welcome in as we catch up with this current series, and what a few episodes it has been, with so many twists, turns, comings, goings, expulsions.
So let's go back to where we left off with some of the key points of these last few episodes
Emily's exit - All I can say is good riddance as she left out the back door, but my gut feeling is we haven't seen the last of her with what is planned for the next eviction. More on that later....
This is Big Brother, not Love Island - You know where I said in the last post, Marcus had showmance written all over him, well I don't like to say I told you so, but..... Ok so I got the other half wrong, nobody's perfect 😉. Him and Elsa on and off more times than a light switch, right now it's currently ON, lucky us eh? What the show think we want to see apparently....
Four new arrivals - Now this is where things get more annoying, as yes it's more meddling with nominations as the new arrivals Feysiola, Richard, George and Love Island wannabe Cameron B come in and had to choose to give Evil Eyes to two of the current housemates to go on the chopping block, and they went for Zelah and Gani
Jenny's prison sentence - Yes, the jail returned, massive yawn. Just more airtime for whoever is in there. 'nuff said. The way they scoff and laugh at these 'punishments' is very frustrating. More like a reward really, what happened to the harder BB of old who would waste no time taking nominations away from the guilty party or something else meaningful that they wouldn't laugh at.
George and Caroline's warnings - It wouldn't be BB without one or two yellow cards issued, and boy did these two deserve it. Won't repeat on here what either of them said, let's just say a big thumbs down to their comments.
Gani is evicted - No real surprise, and another one out a different way, but this time it was understandable due to Storm Amy sweeping the country. So the wait went on for the first front door eviction.....
Normal(ish) nominations - Hallelujah(ish), let me explain. Earlier in this week, BB brought out a box and Caroline chose to open it to reveal a 'cursed' eye which automatically put her on the chopping block and she would have to do face to face nominations, or would she? Hell no, she immediately chose to use 1 of her BB eyes to buy her way out of trouble, and gave the cursed eye to Richard. He chose not to give it to anyone else, and would wear it until it expired on that week's eviction night. He would be joined by Elsa and Cameron B on the chopping block, but it was originally four with George there as well, but we all saw what happened. More in a little bit on that.
Two failed shopping tasks - Less said the better. I don't know about anyone else but remember when the shopping tasks were fun and lasted much longer than a few hours, and without BB chiming in and deploying their wooden spoon with the usual 'Name the most lazy/biggest gameplayer'.
Bye bye New Cameron - Yes, we finally had a front door eviction. He only went in for a showmance, but just think of the scenarios. We could crush one showmance, but get stuck with the other as in Marcus and Elsa or the the showmance in the making had Elsa gone with New Cameron and Nancy, or worst case we would have lost Richard. But thankfully losing Richard wasn't an option, but less thankfully we got stuck with Marcus and Elsap laying out their Love Island audition, at least for now
Now for the real elephant in the room, which has caused quite a stir on forums and social media alike....
George's expulsion - The dope was warned, and just about everyone knew how it was going to end. In or around the time of the second shopping task, he was summoned to the Diary Room and didn't even take his expulsion seriously when BB spelled it out to him, The dope got exactly what he deserved, he had every chance to learn, but blew it. Good riddance to bad rubbish, especially someone with his narrow minded views.
And speaking of elephants in rooms, brings things nicely to the latest news which has gone down like a lead balloon everywhere. Is everybody paying attention? Those at the back as well?
Right, basically another 'original' idea. Not happy with a launch eviction, now we are going to get a fake eviction with 2 former housemates and the next evictee going into a secret room complete with secret missions and god knows what else. Just hoping whoever comes back in, doesn't reveal outside information, as many know one of my biggest bugbears of this show in recent years. Remember in the dark era of Five when friends and family were going in there and passing on everything about how the not rights were being perceived on the outside? Celebrities taking over a civilian series along with former housemates?
Thankfully some problems were solved with this latest attempt as AJ said on the sideshow 'no celebrities or past winners allowed' so that rules out another possible return for she who was/is banned, as in the winner of Power Trip, as I dread to think what the reaction would have been had she been unveiled as one of the two.
Me personally, I would like to find who is actually going in in terms of the former housemates, and then whoever is on the block vote accordingly so there's a good mesh or this could fall flat on its face. I just don't know who can be trusted to keep quiet though, as there are some loud screamers in this current group, who may give things away quite quickly, and also who from the former housemates would cause the most carnage depending on what the secret missions will be. Lots of thinking to do before.
So there we have it, all caught up I hope.... Some enjoying the series, some not. Judging so far, no real clear winners but a definite plus point I would like to point out is the really good Friday and Saturday live feeds we are getting so far, minimal interruptions from birds and what I like to call the IKEA catalogue footage. If only the rest of the week was like that, instead of near maximum silence post nominations, because they don't want to spoil who is on the chopping block, or indeed panic when something kicks off, or they want to save particular conversations for the highlights, which is really frustrating.
Anyway, onwards and upwards as we fast approach this fake eviction malarkey..... A rating of 6.5 from me for this series so far. Still a long way to go, if we can dispose of that showmance very soon then it would be nice, but not much chance of that this week I know. Maybe the week after, and with any luck the two former housemates will only be passing through and not be eligible to win the cash.
Here's to hoping eh?
Anyway, that's enough for today with the next episode on the horizon, and as I say on the forum:
Enjoy, complain or both. YOU decide
Keep on rocking ;)
